DAY FOUR (morning)
![]() Complex Population: 32 It's 8AM, and rather than waking naturally, you awake to the sound of an odd tone ringing through the intercom. As you wake from that deep, dreamless sleep that enforces curfew as always, Judy's voice speaks up a few moments after. "A death has occurred. Safety Protocol 6227-A is now active." That ominous message might prompt you to leave your room more quickly. After all, the viewing stage is open. It seems that someone was busy during the night. This post is for the second day as defined in the schedule. This post is for investigation and general mingling before the trial that takes place in the afternoon IC. ic rulebook character statuses character profiles private conversations graveyard |

However, you might notice the body first.
Rayfa Padma Khura'in has been killed. ]
OOC Note: If investigating, please use the same format as last week!
investigating
Alice leans in to peer through the glass -
And sneezes. That's gross. Making a face, she wipes the glass with some of the fabric of her clothing and tries to look closely enough to tell if this corpse is missing a foot or any other body parts like the last one was.]
Ugh.
no subject
Or it might possibly be the fact that one of Rayfa's feet has indeed been severed from the body. It's at least present this time, so that's an improvement. The ankle monitor is missing. ]

What do we have here? Any obvious death causes, or weapons left around?]

She'll take a look at the body from the glass wall, trying to gauge the condition that the body was left in. Does Rayfa look roughed up, not really injured aside from the stab, etc?]

after veronica superboy primed the wall
[ A flash of light was all she remembered with how quickly everything unfolded. One polaroid shoots out of the compartment on the camera, capturing the utter blast of glass as Veronica ruins the wall. It was perfectly timed, but horrible as Elizabeth herself can't act quick enough. She's sliced above her eyebrow which gushes a red down part of her face as she stumbles back, dropping the photos in her hand but barely catching the camera as she lands straight on her butt with a thud. ]
like 30 mins later
[ She hasn't really gotten cleaned up. There's a collection of dry blood on her brow and the blood on the crook of her nose/cheek has been smeared away, but Elizabeth returns back with both a first aid kit and a sewing kit if anyone wants to get fixed up a bit. She's fairly good at basic medical skills, so please bug her to help out if needed! Idly, she'll catch glances at the ongoing investigation, but she's staying back... for a little while anyway. ]
30 mins later
Of all things that could have happened this has to be the most inconvenient one.
[Someone is pissed off about not being able to go investigate]

right after >:]
At least it's put aside for now as he glances around to see he's not the only one.
He draws a bloody hand away and keeps that eye closed, but he approaches Elizabeth first, since she happens to be closest. He's still grimacing himself with a nice, bloody face to match, but he still offers his hand to her all the same. ]

Even with Veronica throwing the first punch to the glass, it isn't enough forewarning to escape unscathed. He starts to bark, "Don't!" as a spiderweb of cracks split the glass, but Veronica throws the next punch before he can either speak or back up far enough away.
Glass catches him across the brow and forehead, bringing a wave of strange heat rather than pain. It only hurts when he jerks his hand up against his head, and when he brings it away, his fingers are covered in blood. The wound oozes without stopping, slow but steady, pouring over the black eyepatch and beneath it.
Surprisingly, Ciel seems more angry than upset or scared.]

Jack's face is split across one of his eyes, which he keeps closed, but seeing a kid, he turns his attention towards Ciel. Even if someone is a little jerk that probably won't appreciate his kindness!! Rude!! ]
Hey- Woah, Ciel, you alright, kiddo?

post glass break
What the-!?
[See: mild-mannered man. See mild-mannered man, clutching his face as blood starts to stream out of the gash across his nose. See mild-mannered man suddenly become quite the opposite of mild-mannered - he's unleashing a stream of vulgarities that would make someone's ears curl. He turns his gaze around the room, almost hyperventilating from sheer anger.]
This bloody-! What the hell did this, who's the little twit that did this?!! I'm going to make them swallow down and choke on some glass if I have anything to say about it-!
[He looks quite unhinged. He leans against one of the walls, wincing in pain as he tries to stem the bleeding with shuddering fingers.]
twenty minutes later (nice side alfendi)
[Well, now Alfendi is back to his regular self, looking more collected even though he's a bit sickly in appearance. He's pulled off his white coat not to stain it as he sits against the wall, long gangly legs crossed over each other as he looks over everyone dealing with their wounds. His own wound isn't bleeding anymore, but it's quite noticeable, crossing from his right cheek over the bridge of his nose.]
[He smiles at whoever is nearby, his tone surprisingly gentle:]
Well, at least the room is open. I'd say we'd made some progress today.
bad alfendi time...
Hi, uh, culprit here. [She waves, completely uninjured (gauntlet aside, fucking RIP.)] I'm sorry about the wound - do you need any help bandaging it?
[Politely ignoring his threats to shove glass down her throat rn.]

glassgate 2016 (aka right after veronica does the thing)
That happened.
SO, uh, Veronica will just be peering down to the operating room and debate going down...though she quickly notices there's no real means of getting back up so she's kind of hesitant. Approach the girl who just shattered a whole glass wall? Maybe try shoving her down to be a huge dick?]

Well, technically speaking, your venture was a success.
[ never mind the people crying and bleeding etc ]
Are you wounded, yourself? [ since. everyone else is. ]

But he can ask later. The important thing is that the window's open and nobody else is dead (yet?) because of it. ]
Hey! Maybe a little warning next time? [ not that he got injured... ] Ugh, nevermind. Can you get down there?

[Aren't people supposed to bounce harmlessly off? Huh.
Dickson won't admit it but he sure backed up fast when he heard that glass crack. Good thing too, look at this mess. He peers over the jagged edge.]
So, you got a plan, or was that just you letting out some frustration?
post-glassgate
She's recoiling almost immediately, right hand going up to her upper left arm before she stops herself. No touching. No fiddling with it until she has a first aid kit or something to properly deal with the injury. No time to deal with infections. What she can't stop herself from doing, though, is hissing. Anyone nearby will definitely hear one very eloquent, very polite word slipping out of her mouth—]
——Crap!
[She would look properly ashamed, too, if she had time to worry about potty mouths.]
later:
We must find a secure way to reach the body before it's too late.
[They gotta find some clues before the body goes bye bye. They gotta.]
later
Hey there. [She says awkwardly, knowing she's a little infamous right now.] So it doesn't look like the operating room is that far of a jump down. Maybe we can both go together and then help each other get back up?

He goes down as soon as the announcement occurs, despite the sinking feeling in his stomach when he wakes up to find Rayfa absent. It's disheartening to have his suspicions confirmed; he may not have known her very well, but that doesn't make it any less tragic.
Leo's no good at investigating, though, with as much investigating as they can even do this far from the body. And he certainly isn't going to be pointing any fingers today. So he backs off to give the competent adults (???) their space, calling out that he'll be in the kitchen if anyone needs him. He figures they probably won't.
...Of course, then there's a loud friggin' explosion of shattering glass, and he's hightailing it right back out, dropping the can of soup he'd been holding.
WELP... guess the destruction trend is ongoing.
He's not great at first aid, either (thanks, Victorian era), but he isn't totally incompetent. If they're low on first-aid supplies, he's got a nice long tailcoat with plenty of fabric to spare for bandages.
At the moment, though, he's got it wrapped around his hands, gingerly trying to kick and brush bits of glass into a pile. Life would be easier with a broom, but alas...]
Later
[Rather than investigating the body or volunteering ideas for makeshift ladders, Leo retreats again once he's done what he can for Glassgate And Its After-Effects. He can be found seated beside the fountain again with his legs crossed, studying the ankle monitor. What the hell are these things, anyway?]
Later
Not that he's going to rest, though. He's going to look evidence everywhere else, where people won't be around.
Oh, there is Leo...]
...I suppose you're already aware of who was the victim.
[Looks like the apartment will be a bit emptier now]

She's not really sure what she can do, however, until she sees Leo trying to clear up the glass, and after some hesitation, she decides to kneel down and help as well without saying much of a word, following his idea with using clothes. She has to rip some of her skirt off, but that's okay, there's more in the closet. ]

[ as for dazai, he's off doing... who knows what, really, when he hears glass shattering from the other room — and comes running over immediately, not because he's particularly concerned for the well-being of those who ended up injured, but because he wants to see how destructive it was.
either way, he's holding up a pack of bandages and waving it in the air, which is... pretty convenient to have as his item after something like glassgate happens. ]
Does anyone need any bandaging?
later
[ he'd go over and examine the body himself, but he figures that everyone in the room has already done the investigative work for him... so instead, he's going to go around the room, prying for any details that anyone has gleaned from the situation so far. ]
What do we know so far?
later
[Alice? is just a little bristly and bitter--he can't help it, someone else is dead, and he doesn't know how to answer a question like that immediately.
His heart is just too tender.]
