DAY FOUR (morning)
![]() Complex Population: 32 It's 8AM, and rather than waking naturally, you awake to the sound of an odd tone ringing through the intercom. As you wake from that deep, dreamless sleep that enforces curfew as always, Judy's voice speaks up a few moments after. "A death has occurred. Safety Protocol 6227-A is now active." That ominous message might prompt you to leave your room more quickly. After all, the viewing stage is open. It seems that someone was busy during the night. This post is for the second day as defined in the schedule. This post is for investigation and general mingling before the trial that takes place in the afternoon IC. ic rulebook character statuses character profiles private conversations graveyard |

However, you might notice the body first.
Rayfa Padma Khura'in has been killed. ]
OOC Note: If investigating, please use the same format as last week!

Alice leans in to peer through the glass -
And sneezes. That's gross. Making a face, she wipes the glass with some of the fabric of her clothing and tries to look closely enough to tell if this corpse is missing a foot or any other body parts like the last one was.]
Ugh.
no subject
Or it might possibly be the fact that one of Rayfa's feet has indeed been severed from the body. It's at least present this time, so that's an improvement. The ankle monitor is missing. ]

Alice makes a face, then slides a hand into one of her pockets as she scans over the rest of the room, taking in the details that the others have already notice. That same hand comes up to rest over her mouth a moment later, and then she coughs.]
The same killer...? Or...
[The words come out mumbled against her hand. She swallows hard, then steps away from the glass. There doesn't seem to be anything else she'll notice from here, so she'll back off and watch the others for now.]

[Says Alfendi, who is standing a little further back as well - he's again looking a bit sickly, but seems more composed this time. It's strange, how the repetition of a similar murder is somehow not quite as shocking as it should be.]
[He's glad to turn his attention to something else: that is, Alice's sudden illness.]

[Her denial is interrupted by a violent sneeze. She makes a noise of aggravation in the back of her throat and sniffles, bringing up her hand to rub at her nose with the back of it.]
...I guess. A little. Ugh.
no subject
When did it start? I thought I heard you sniffling a while ago, but I wasn't sure if it was you...
no subject
...I guess my throat was a little sore before we went to sleep last night, but my nose has been runny and I've been sneezing since we woke up.
[Shit sucks.]

What do we have here? Any obvious death causes, or weapons left around?]

When Veronica punches the glass Dojima steps back, but apparently it wasn't enough. When the glass breaks, a large piece embeds itself in Dojima's leg. Oh god, the bleeding! It starts immediately.
Dojima can't stop himself from shouting in surprise and pain, and hobbles a bit away, touching the glass with hesitant fingers. How's one supposed to deal with a wound like this one? He can't remember.
Looks like the detective will have to sit out of the investigation due to the wound]

She'll take a look at the body from the glass wall, trying to gauge the condition that the body was left in. Does Rayfa look roughed up, not really injured aside from the stab, etc?]

Okay but what will happen if Veronica punches the glass wall with her gauntlet equipped, putting all her strength into it? Because that's what she's totally gonna do in hopes of breaking it to actually get to the body.]

When Veronica punches the glass, a deep crack forms under where her fist hit. It seems like if she punches it again, it might break. ]

Adam's injury will depend on his adherence to workplace safety. If he's wearing closed toed shoes, then he'll only get a bruise from a rather large piece of glass falling on his foot. However, if he's not, he'll lose his pinky toe.
Alfendi will get sliced across his nose, because I'm not sure what you really expected here. At least he didn't lose the tip of it, since if RNG wasn't kind, that was absolutely going to happen.
Alice will get hit in the head by a piece of glass. It's likely to make her bleed, though the cut won't be bad at all. What's far worse is that she might lose some of her hair in the process...
Angel's upper arm will be hit by a piece of glass, which will embed itself enough into her arm to stick out. Have fun taking that one out!
Bigby will get his dick sliced off. Unfortunate. Which is a joke, because Bigby will be cut across one of his palms. The gash won't be deep enough to require stitches, but if you've never sliced open your palm, let me just say this is probably the most annoying place to get injured.
Ciel will get a minor slice just above his patched eye. While it's not severe, he won't be able to wear his eyepatch because of the bandage (assuming he actually bandages it) for a week or two.
Dojima will be the unluckiest of the bunch. A large piece of glass will fall and hit his leg, embedding itself rather deeply. While it's not life-threatening, it's going to bleed quite a bit, and it's certainly not going to feel great.
Jack will get cut across his face. This is not at all the universe laughing at him, but it is absolutely me, Christy, laughing at him.
Elizabeth will get cut by a piece of falling glass on her brow. The cut will be deep enough that it needs stitches, but it won't be a large gash overall.
Veronica will be miraculously free of injury, but a large piece of glass will fall on her gauntlet and damage it. While it'll still give her punches the kind of force you'd expect from brass knuckles, it'll no longer be able to deliver glass-shattering punches.
Rose will get her forearm sliced by a piece of glass. It's just deep enough that she should consider stitches, and several inches long.
If you missed the plurk to opt-in to the randomized injuries, you can opt-in for a small injury of your choice.
Of course, one the chaos dies down, there is something important returned by Veronica's actions: the operating theater is now accessible. The doors to the left and right of the room cannot be unlocked (or punched open), but there's also an additional change to the setting as a result of opening the theater...
If the room is "contaminated" in any way (meaning blood, bodily fluids, corpses, etc...), the room will enter decontamination procedures from the next period of noon to 4PM. This process is what destroyed Charles's body, and will give everyone a way to dispose of dead bodies. However, because of the process itself, the facility will be locked down for that period whenever this occurs. Whatever room you're in will be locked, and you'll be unable to leave it during this time. This will be announced to the game when it occurs OOC, but not IC.
However, if you're in the atrium when this occurs, you're out of luck. Your character will die if they are in the atrium during the procedure. ]

[well at least the room is open now.]
