DAY TWO (morning)
![]() Complex Population: 34 It's 8AM, and rather than waking naturally, you awake to the sound of an odd tone ringing through the intercom. As you wake from that deep, dreamless sleep that enforces curfew as always, Judy's voice speaks up a few moments after. "A death has occurred. Safety Protocol 6227-A is now in effect. Protocol now available on Complex terminals." That ominous message might prompt you to leave your room more quickly. You can check out the terminal, where a new file is available, but as you head into the atrium, you might notice something else. The viewing stage is open. It seems that someone was busy during the night. This post is for the second day as defined in the schedule. This post is for investigation and general mingling before the trial that takes place in the afternoon IC. ic rulebook character statuses character profiles private conversations graveyard |

However, you might notice the blood first.
There's a fair amount of it, looking like a trail across the floor, but at the end of it, there's a body, and nearby there's a nailbat.
Charles Fei-Ong has been killed. ]
OOC Note: Because of the location of this kill, characters will be limited to "investigating" only what they can see from the viewing stage, as the room on the other side isn't conventionlly accessible. If your character is taking a closer look at something or is talking to Judy, please note it in your comment's subject (i.e., "investigating" or "judy" will work), otherwise I'll be treating responses as general reactions.
However, as a reminder, this is a mafia-style murdergame where everyone's insane and the evidence doesn't matter. Less jokingly, evidence will be minimal at best for murders in this game, and is unlikely to point towards a killer. You'll have to figure out whodunnit in different ways!

However, it was definitely used on his head, as his skull is cracked, and there are deep lacerations on his neck from where the nails went in. It's not a pretty sight.
Also, one of his feet is missing. Weird. ]

Does it look like the foot was cleanly cut off or ripped off or nailbatted to the point of disintegration? Does he still have the ankle monitor on him? ]

Dojima has some experience with bodies, but not enough to be able to see that much from this distance. Hmmmm...that's why he looks around, trying to see any non-obvious ways the victim and the culprit - or the corpse and nothing else - to be into that place. Are there vents, or suspicious points that may indicated hidden entrances?]
investigating
Oh, well.
Identifying the doors on both sides of the room, however, she steps out of the viewing stage after a moment's pause. There was only one door in the kitchen, so that's probably not it. The locked room across the cafeteria, though — is it possible to open it now? Probably not, but she'll try even if it's a moot point. Also... regardless of that, does it look like the door was opened or tampered with lately? Or are there any obvious stains of blood or markings/scratches in the general area?]

Time to figure out how to bust down some doors and/or windows. Probably. Do the locked door and the glass window in the viewing stage look like they could be potentially broken, or does it look like anyone who tries to punch it/shoot it/kick it/whathaveyou will end up with a serious case of the booboos?]

[That's rude, Alice...]
the rulebook we got said that we'd be sharing rooms with up to three residents
does that mean that in the rooms where there are more than four people, one of them isn't a resident?

talking to judy
What's stopping us all from agreeing to abstain so that we can complete an investigation on our own time?
Seven hours in a courtroom with little evidence isn't enough to justify voting someone as guilty.
no subject
Though I should note, I doubt you will be able to investigate too much. The operating theater will be decontamined this afternoon.
no subject
That's counter fucking productive.
Why?
Don't clean up a crime scene until evidence has been taken.

talking to judy!
Since Ookurikara is technologically challenged, he's going to try and talk into the terminal otherwise they'll be here all day with his attempts at typing. Just in case that doesn't work, he has brought along The Local Mitsutada to type for him if need be. First and foremost, he wants to ask one (1) thing. ] How do these ankle monitors work...exactly?
Or how are they monitoring us in the first place or whatever. [ A+ for effort. ]
no subject
Actually, scratch that, how are we being monitored excactly?
[Mitsutada is doing his best to be the scribe!!]
