DAY FIVE
![]() Complex Population: ??? It's 8AM, and you wake from that deep, dreamless sleep that enforces curfew as always. There's breakfast avaliable in the cafeteria if you want it, as well as meals from 11AM-12PM and 7PM-8PM, but otherwise? The day is yours. Take your time to explore the complex, relax, and enjoy each others' company, as who knows what the next day has in store? Though as you explore, you may notice that there's a new door unlocked and a new place for you to spend the day. Even better, it's two rooms! You'll find a dated computer lab, but at least you can play classics like Kid Pix and Ski Free. Connected to the lab is also a small movie theater, though the movie selection only goes up to 1940... Also, anyone taking a stroll by the fountain this morning may notice something odd about it. The water is red. This post is for the first day as defined in the schedule. This post is for general mingling and CR buidling, and will not include significant plot interaction. ic rulebook character statuses character profiles private conversations graveyard |
warning: last prompt will lead to amputation
[Another day, another bunch of new things to investigate! Alice is sniffling, but at least her coughing and sneezing isn't totally distracting today. It's probably only a matter of time, though. She stops only to get breakfast before poking around for new things, bypassing the fountain since it got her sick last time, and ends up here.
...what the heck is an Oregon Trail? Time to find out. Oh, it wants her to name the family... she looks around and waves whatever poor unfortunate soul who happens to be nearby over.]
Hey, help me with this for a second.
Afternoon - Entertainment Theater;
[Alice has discovered the joys of silent movies. Which is probably a good thing, because it's keeping her distracted from more stupid things (like investigating the red water and getting even sicker).
This one's only just started, but she's already snickering at how hilariously overexaggerated everyone's movements are.]
I guess I have to give them points for giving us these to watch. ♡
[She's literally popcorning. Why.]
Evening - Technology Lab;
cw: amputation later on in this thread
[Alice has eaten dinner already because she doesn't have a weak stomach, but part of her is hoping that the two who are meeting her here didn't, because she sure doesn't want to clean up blood as well as puke once she's done here.
That said! She'll face both of her companions with her hands on her hips once they arrive and gives them a no-nonsense look.]
Right, so you both know what we have to do here. Are you ready?
media lab
[ not the friendliest answer to anyone listening but shijima actually drifts over from vaguely poking at the movie collection to peer at alice. she frequently ignores people's requests for help so ????? this might be friendly ??? for shijima ???? ]
no subject
[Alice points at the screen, indicating a pixelized picture of a pioneer family.] I already named the wagon leader after myself, but what should I name the other four?
no subject
[ ......................um. ]
...Alfendi 2?
[ shijima... ]
no subject
One of them is a baby...
[Think about it, think about it...]
Oh! We could name the baby Jefferey!
no subject
[ stop picking on jeff you two he's not even HERE TO HEAR YOU PICKING ON HIM? ]
no subject
Oookay... so, do we want to leave in March, April, May, June, or July? [She wrinkles her nose.] What's the difference?
no subject
...I suppose the weather? [ a SHRUG, she doesn't know jack shit about american weather she always stayed in eastern countries? ]
March.
no subject
[They're a banker family because Alice was just defaulting to the first choice before.]
I'm gonna buy everything. ♡

evening... i still can't believe this
I can't say that this is going to end well... You're sure about this, right?
[ or that it's smart in the first place. but as far as he's concerned, he's just here to make sure that no one bleeds to death. they don't need unnecessary deaths, after all. ]
SURE YOU CAN
I'm not sure of anything about this place, but I'm not changing my mind, no. [Hell, all this could be a terrible, elaborate dream, for all he knows. (Wouldn't that be convenient?)
He does sigh, though, shrugging out of his tailcoat.] I really hope this isn't a waste, though.
NEVER UNDERESTIMATE OUR ABILITY TO GO TURBOMORON
The only way to find out if it is or isn't a waste is to do it. So... [She points over at one of the surfaces.] You'll need to climb up there and lie very, very still. Oh, and take off your shoes and roll up your pants, I guess.
maybe this will tame alice's bloodlust (no)
So the complete and utter lack of preparation, sanitation, or any other -ation that might actually make this a slightly less terrible idea is completely lost on him. He hands his jacket off to Dazai, since Dazai is presumably the one who will be preventing his death with it, and slips out of his shoes as he's told.
Once he's up and sitting comfortably, he reaches for his pant leg, and hesitates for a split second. It feels a little strange to be showing skin to a lady, even in this situation; but then he shakes his head slightly, clearing that thought. It's fine. It's not like Alice is the type to scream and faint at the sight of scandalous ankles. (Probably...)
He glances at Dazai one more time, though it's hard to see his eyes.] I'll say it again, but please don't let me die. [NO PRESSURE]
alice's bloodlust will never be tamed
as for whether leo can leave his life in dazai's capable hand, well... he gives leo his answer with a bright smile. ]
If I can't even manage to get myself to die, how could I let you die?
[ NO WORRIES HERE LEO ]
i mean, that's true
She picks it up, testing the weight of it before nodding.]
If we're all ready to go, then...~? Shall I get us started?
[If given the go-ahead, she'll rev up the saw.]
no subject
imagine the look of disdain and non-shock on his face when he walks by the tech lab, hears Alice's ominous, happy voice as the revving of a saw picks up in the background. it takes all of five seconds before he's running through the sliding door with a sense of urgency that leads him to believe he was about to find something he didn't want to find.
... and he didn't. there's Leo, sitting up and revealing his sexy ankles, Dazai playing witness (???) and Alice operating a saw with what seems to be gleeful, reckless abandon. he's just going to stand there for a moment, looking at all of them through squinted eyes. ]
What. ―The fuck. ―Is going on here.
no subject
--except then there's Bigby, theoretically kicking down doors but actually just standing there and giving them a (perfectly deserved) Look.]
What does it look like? [He's a little annoyed... HE DIDN'T WANT AN AUDIENCE the whole Complex doesn't need to see his sexy Victorian ankles!!!]

entertainment theater!
Hoo boy, is he old.]
—What is this supposed to be?
no subject
[It's entertainment, presumably. And it's probably no surprise that Alice has gravitated toward the more slapstick variety.]
I guess they didn't have things like this where you came from, either?
no subject
They didn't, no. [Shaking his head! He's yet to take a seat, but he's still got an eye on the screen with a fair amount of interest.]
But the technology in this place is truly amazing.
no subject
Alice reaches over and pats a seat next to her.]
Sit down and watch them with me, then! Just because everything's terrible right now doesn't mean we can't appreciate nice things when we find them.
no subject
[He had considered trying to figure out what's up with that spookyass red water, but fortunately he decides to take Alice's offer instead. Over he goes, delicately taking a seat!
Though he does have to wonder, after a few seconds:]
I wonder what the purpose of this place is. Are we really meant to keep living here like our lives aren't in danger?
no subject
[She's rude enough to act like she owns the place even though she totally doesn't, after all.]
...they seem to think some of us would do that. [She would, honestly.] Why spend money and time setting all this up if they think it would go unused?
no subject
But he supposes that makes enough sense. He just sighs a little, glancing back toward the screen and the men currently getting their asses kicked by the laundry lady.]
It's good to have a distraction in some ways, I suppose...
no subject
[That's the logic she's using to justify herself if anyone asks... the truth is she's just really not all that broken up about all the death and murder.]
