DAY FIVE
![]() Complex Population: ??? It's 8AM, and you wake from that deep, dreamless sleep that enforces curfew as always. There's breakfast avaliable in the cafeteria if you want it, as well as meals from 11AM-12PM and 7PM-8PM, but otherwise? The day is yours. Take your time to explore the complex, relax, and enjoy each others' company, as who knows what the next day has in store? Though as you explore, you may notice that there's a new door unlocked and a new place for you to spend the day. Even better, it's two rooms! You'll find a dated computer lab, but at least you can play classics like Kid Pix and Ski Free. Connected to the lab is also a small movie theater, though the movie selection only goes up to 1940... Also, anyone taking a stroll by the fountain this morning may notice something odd about it. The water is red. This post is for the first day as defined in the schedule. This post is for general mingling and CR buidling, and will not include significant plot interaction. ic rulebook character statuses character profiles private conversations graveyard |
alice's bloodlust will never be tamed
as for whether leo can leave his life in dazai's capable hand, well... he gives leo his answer with a bright smile. ]
If I can't even manage to get myself to die, how could I let you die?
[ NO WORRIES HERE LEO ]
i mean, that's true
She picks it up, testing the weight of it before nodding.]
If we're all ready to go, then...~? Shall I get us started?
[If given the go-ahead, she'll rev up the saw.]
no subject
imagine the look of disdain and non-shock on his face when he walks by the tech lab, hears Alice's ominous, happy voice as the revving of a saw picks up in the background. it takes all of five seconds before he's running through the sliding door with a sense of urgency that leads him to believe he was about to find something he didn't want to find.
... and he didn't. there's Leo, sitting up and revealing his sexy ankles, Dazai playing witness (???) and Alice operating a saw with what seems to be gleeful, reckless abandon. he's just going to stand there for a moment, looking at all of them through squinted eyes. ]
What. ―The fuck. ―Is going on here.
no subject
--except then there's Bigby, theoretically kicking down doors but actually just standing there and giving them a (perfectly deserved) Look.]
What does it look like? [He's a little annoyed... HE DIDN'T WANT AN AUDIENCE the whole Complex doesn't need to see his sexy Victorian ankles!!!]
no subject
[Alice chimes in a moment later, since Leo isn't being very forthcoming. Look at her, being all nice and helpful!]
no subject
I'm... just here to make sure that he doesn't die. Medical knowledge, and all of that.
no subject
I really hope I'm fucking wrong, but you're going to try and cut his foot off to get rid of it, aren't you?
[ this is just So Bad. ]
no subject
[So that's a "you're not wrong". Alice doesn't see how this might be a problem, either.]
no subject
no subject
And if I'm not wrong, Leo's already said that he's fine with this. So it's... fine... I guess.
no subject
You goddamn kids. What the hell is the wrong wi― [ deep breath as he steps forward, looking at the saw and Alice. ] ―just... nevermind. This is going to look really bad for all of you if he doesn't make it out of this alive.
Do you even know how to use a saw blade properly?
no subject
But Alice isn't exactly about to admit that, because if she does, Leo might change his mind, and she's been on good behavior for like five days (or good behavior for her, anyway) and life is so hard, she just wants to make someone bleed.
They don't really have power tools where she's from, but it's similar to some weapons she's seen, so she shrugs.]
Of course I do. It's not that difficult.
[pray 4 leo]
He just has to be sure he doesn't - [She sneezes, which makes her and her hands jerk a little, which isn't reassuring at all considering what she's about to be doing.] - move around so I don't cut off something I shouldn't.
no subject
I'm sure I can manage to hold still for 30 seconds. [That's all it takes, right? Or will it be even faster with an electric tool? WE'LL SEE...]
no subject
If it's just thirty seconds, it'll be over quickly — just like that.
[ ...yeah!! encouraging. ]
no subject
Thirty seconds of separating skin and bone from the rest of your body isn't going to feel like thirty seconds. Just saying.
[ it's pretty clear that Alice is either going to start swinging that bone saw at him if he tries to take it away, or Leo and Dazai will tell him to go away and stop being party pooper. he really should walk away, but if he finds Leo's body tomorrow morning with another foot missing, that was just going to cause bounds of trouble. ]
Jesus. Do we even have something for him to bite onto? I'll hold him down, I guess.
no subject
He sees them doing something stupid, but he accepts that he can't really stop them and helps instead. She beams at him, and it's actually sort of sad that the most sincere-looking smile she's managed since they arrived here is because she's been given the go-ahead to cut off someone's foot.]
Really? Thanks! ♡
[A big thank you to everyone for helping to make her dreams come true...]
Lee-Lee, do you think you need something to bite down on? If you do, I'm sure we can find something before we start cutting.
no subject
BUT HEY BIGBY DON'T JUDGE who else would be crazy enough to lop off his foot if asked... okay maybe a lot of the people in this game but look, he doesn't know that. He does look a little relieved that they aren't being discouraged, if only because outside support, regardless of how reluctant it is, is a little reassuring. It means that they aren't the only ones who think something might come of this. ...At least, that's what he hopes. (That isn't what it means, Leo.)
And congratulations, Alice. No one has ever given Leo a nickname before, and he has absolutely no idea how to react.]
...That's even longer than my actual name. [Isn't the point of nicknames to... shorten them... or to be a dick, which is what happens any time he calls Elliot "Elly", so, okay, if that's the reasoning then fine.]
If it will help, then I'll take it. I don't want everyone to come rushing in here at once. [Because, yeah, without any chloroform to knock him out, there's probably gonna be some screaming. At least Alice has three witnesses to back her up...!]
no subject
but he does glance around the room at the mention of having something for leo to bite into, and then pats through the multiple pockets in his coat. ]
Hmm... Do we have something like that laying around?
[ it probably shouldn't be made of the toughest material in the world, but as for things on his person that leo can bite into, dazai's got nothing. ]
no subject
[ this is the best option because it was the only option. he clearly caught them when it was too late. after all, Lee-Lee already presented his ankles to a young woman! there was no going back at this point. Alice is waaaay too happy to find out she gets to still move forward with the amputation. they're going to have a long talk back at the apartment, especially when he finds out she's fighting with Dr. Alfendi & Mr. Layton.
Bigby doesn't answer immediately. he instead sinks his nails into the sleeve of his right arm, tearing and pulling at it until it separates from the rest of his button-up. it was enough fabric to fold into a thick enough layer for Leo to sink his teeth into but not break his jaw or lose a few teeth while he was at it. he offers it to the
victimvolunteer while looking at Alice warily. ]Would have brought my alcohol to clean the wound if I knew what I was walking into. Have I said Jesus, yet?
[ GOD THESE GUYS... ]
no subject
[And she likes him, so he gets a cute name...? Or something to that effect. He sure skyrocketed to the top of her list of people she likes when he decided she could cut off his foot.
Dazai's got their soon-to-be-tourniquet at the ready and Bigby's resourceful enough to make something for Leo to bite down on in lieu of severing his tongue or cracking his teeth, so they're pretty much good to go.]
Alright, then... Should we do this on a count of three?
[Whenever they're all in place and she's got the go-ahead, she'll get this amputation started.]
no subject
But whatever, they can argue about that later, presuming she does not sneeze and saw him in half. For now, there's not really anything else to be said--especially since Leo's busy fitting the fabric comfortably in his mouth and settling into place. Briefly, he debates keeping his eyes open or closed, but... well, his glasses aren't really what they seem to be. Open is fine.
There's no way to actually be ready for this, he knows--they'd be better off knocking him over the head until it's done. But he nods anyway. Please make it quick, Alice, save your torturing skills for the staff.]
no subject
honestly, in hindsight: if chopping off someone's entire foot doesn't make the three of them look extra suspicious, he doesn't know what does.
but he counts his Tourniquet Materials one last time, before sending a quick nod towards alice. ]
All good to go here!
no subject
Ugh. This isn't about to get any better the longer we wait, so. Alice, if you could just... hold onto that saw with both hands. And resist the urge to sneeze for a while, yeah?
[ Leo, he doesn't know you very well, but you're equally stupid and brave. most people offer their body to science after death. he's doing it during, and... well, it's stupid and brave.
oh, and he should probably move over to the guy and start pressing his hands down onto his arms to keep him pinned down firmly. it's not an iron grip yet, but that'll change when the blood starts showing itself. ]
no subject
She doesn't want to cut off too much of his leg - just his foot, so that they can get the ankle monitor off. But just in case it's wedged too securely to the leg to yank off once his foot is gone, she'll have to make the cut above it.
Holding her breath to keep from sneezing, she brings the saw down on his leg.
There isn't as much resistance as she expects at first, but then, at first it's just skin. It's as she presses the chainsaw down more firmly that she meets a bit of resistance, a bit of recoil - but she digs her heels in and holds her ground. There's an almost sickening crunch, barely audible above the roar of the chainsaw, as she starts to cut into the bone.
There's blood. She sees it splattering out of the corner of her eye, but she's hyperfocused on the task at hand, gritting her teeth and at least trying to make it quick. She's skilled at causing pain, and there's no way she would say no to this, but Leo isn't someone she wants to make suffer more than is necessary for this.
Unfortunately, the chainsaw isn't leaving a very clean wound. If he struggles, it'll only be worse.]

In some ways, it isn't his fault. For reasons he's never properly understood, he's always been a quick healer and a fairly sturdy person. Small and fine-boned, sure, but it's always been surprisingly hard to leave lasting physical damage on him--it's part of what kept him alive while he'd lived on his own, between the death of his parents and the time it took to get him to the orphanage. It's not something so unnatural that he'd thought to ask Judy about it, but now that he's in this situation, it's... well. Kind of obvious.
It takes a second for the pain to kick in. There's nothing wrong with his foot, no lasting injuries or serious infections
yetthat have had his body focused on that part of his body. If he hadn't been looking, maybe it would've taken even longer. But then it hits, and it hits hard, like the weight of a mountain knocking all of the air out of his lungs. Bigby told him it wouldn't feel like thirty seconds, but he hadn't told him it would feel like thirty years, flesh and muscle being wrenched so forcefully apart. The bone is the worst. He might be slender, but no part of his body was ever meant to take this. The merest vibration is agonizing, tortured nerves going haywire, and there's no possible way he can withstand this. So much for staying awake to make sure Dazai does his job properly.
Somebody's screaming, he realizes dimly. Belatedly, about three seconds before he passes out, he notices it's himself.
(Thanks for the cloth, Bigby.)]
