DAY TWELVE

DAY 12
Complex Population: 13

You wake from that deep, dreamless sleep that enforces curfew as always.

However, it's completely dark. There's only the rumbling of a generator, and it's not clear what time it actually is.

Maybe you should step outside to see what's going on.

DAY ELEVEN

Nov. 7th, 2016 08:53 am

DAY 11
Complex Population: 14

It's 8AM, and you wake from that deep, dreamless sleep that enforces curfew as always.

There's breakfast available in the cafeteria if you want it, as well as meals from 11AM-12PM and 7PM-8PM, but otherwise? The day is yours. Take your time to explore the complex, relax, and enjoy each others' company, as who knows what the next day has in store?

Though as you explore, you may notice that there's a few new doors unlocked and several new places for you to spend the day as a result of finding the Overseer. However, one door remains locked for now... Maybe this is Ciel's doing? Or maybe Judy has other plans...

You can always ask her, but for now, you should take the chance to gather as much information as possible before deciding how to handle the Overseer.

For once, there's nothing amiss about the Complex.

This post is for the first day as defined in the schedule. This post is for general mingling and CR buidling, and will not include significant plot interaction.

DAY 10 (evening)
Complex Population: 15

At 7PM, a tone rings out, but it's not Judy's voice that filters out over the intercom.

"TALLYING VOTES. . ."

The voice is mechanical and robotic, and a pause lingers in the air. It seems that the voting system is run by some kind of AI.

"CONSENSUS REACHED. MAJORITY VOTE. OVERSEER CIEL PHANTOMHIVE, EMPLOYEE ID VTMGMT62270567. STATUS: INNOCENT. CIEL, PROCEED TO THE JUDGEMENT THEATER. CHARGING..."

There's the sound of clicking, though it's not Ciel that receives the shock. Rhys, who had started to stir nearby, is the one to receive it. It seems there was a last ditch effort to try and save Ciel, at least for now... But at least as promised, when everyone leaves, you'll find (almost) every door in the Complex open.

"DESIGNATING EXECUTIONER. . . ALICE. ALICE, PROCEED TO THE JUDGEMENT THEATER. CHARGING..."

The second person will receive the same treatment. No one else will be able to step into the judgement theater after them without receiving a nasty shock before they can step too close, and once they're both inside, the door closes behind both of them. There's a clicking sound from the walls, and the panels on the right side of the room are pulled up to reveal a thick glass that allows you to look into the Judgement Theater.

It seems justice is meant to come from the the hands of the jury.

DAY 10 (afternoon)
Complex Population: 15

At noon, the same tone from the morning rings out, and Judy's voice filters out over the intercom.

"Good afternoon, residents. As per Safety Protocol 6227-A, it is time to conduct a trial to bring justice for the victim. Please proceed to the courtroom on the first level."

Just as at night, if you don't go to the courtroom, you'll be treated to an electric shock of increasing strength until you go to the courtroom or are unconscious. Though considering the ominous penalty for not participating in a trial, you should likely just go rather than risk not voting because you've been knocked out by your own stubbornness... Once you're in the courtroom, you'll find that bottled water and light snacks are provided, but otherwise you'll have to bring anything else you may need.

As you come to your conclusions about who to vote for, you can step into the judgement theater to cast your vote at the terminal. You may change your vote as many times as you'd like, but at 7PM, your vote (or lack thereof) is locked in.

You have until 7PM to discuss and vote for who you think the murderer is.

Though as you explore, you may notice that there's a few new doors unlocked and a new place for you to spend the day. Behind one door, you'll find a neat, tidy classroom. Like the Media Lab, none of the textbooks seem to cover anything past the 1940s, but if you'd like to do arts and crafts, the supply closet may be your place to spend the day. Across the walkway, there's also a small garden for growing fresh vegetables, so maybe you can finally be somewhat free of canned food.

For once, there's nothing amiss about the Complex.

RHYS, EMPLOYEE ID VTSCI62270894. STATUS: GUILTY. RHYS, PROCEED TO THE JUDGEMENT THEATER. CHARGING..."

There's the sound of clicking, and Rhys will receive a very sharp shock to their ankle monitor. If they don't step into the judgement room, the shock will increase in strength every ten seconds until they're unconscious. Regardless, the voice continues to drone on.

"DESIGNATING EXECUTIONER. . . AL"

The protocol starts, but cuts off abruptly. Instead, Judy's voice speaks up.

"Consider this an official notification for the entire population. If you feel a noose tightening around your neck, I am at least accommodating. If there is someone in particular you want to take your life, I can override the selection protocol for that purpose. Perhaps next time, Alice, since Rhys has requested Jack. Please proceed to the judgement theater."

Though as you explore, you may notice that there's a new door unlocked and a new place for you to spend the day. For the more bookish residents, you'll now find a quaint little library open to be perused. Interestingly, none of the books have publishing dates, but for those of you that may know when the more famous books were published, you won't find anything past 1940.

Also, anyone taking a stroll by the fountain this morning may notice that once again it's been subject to... something. The water is a darker red today.

DAY 6 — Night
Complex Population: 26

At 10PM, Judy's voice will speak through the complex's intercom:

"Good evening, residents. The time is now 10PM. Please return to your rooms by 11PM for curfew."

There's no further prompting than that, and how could there be? There doesn't seem to be anyone else here, after all. However, if you don't heed the warning, at 11:30 PM, you'll start to feel mild electric shocks from the ankle monitor. Unless you return to your room, they'll increase in strength every minute until it's enough to knock you out. If that happens, you won't wake until curfew ends at 8AM the next morning.

For the more obedient residents, you at least get to stay up later. Quite strangely, even if you're a night owl, around 1AM, an intense drowsiness will start to overtake you. Even if you try your hardest to fight it, you'll be very deeply asleep by 2AM. However, curiously, those less obedient residents will awake in their rooms at 8AM with everyone else.

It seems that someone wants you all asleep tonight.

If your character will be staying elsewhere for the night, please comment here.

There's the sound of clicking, and Adam will receive a very sharp shock to their ankle monitor. If they don't step into the judgement room, the shock will increase in strength every ten seconds until they're unconscious. Regardless, the voice continues to drone on.

"DESIGNATING EXECUTIONER. . . ANGEL. ANGEL, PROCEED TO THE JUDGEMENT THEATER. CHARGING..."

The second person will receive the same treatment. Though as you explore, you may notice that there's a new door unlocked and a new place for you to spend the day. There's a workshop and tinkering lab that you can now access. It includes everything from power tools to more terminals (so no need to crowd around the commissary terminal to chat with Judy anymore). As tempting as all these tools may be, they cannot be removed from the lab. Only completed projects may be taken out of the lab. That said, it seems like someone may have already been here, as there's blood smeared on one of the terminal's keyboards.

Also, anyone taking a stroll by the fountain this morning may notice something floating in the water: a boy's severed foot.
