night post.

DAY 2 — Night
Complex Population: 34

At 10PM, Judy's voice will speak through the complex's intercom:

"Good evening, residents. The time is now 10PM. Please return to your rooms by 11PM for curfew."

There's no further prompting than that, and how could there be? There doesn't seem to be anyone else here, after all. However, if you don't heed the warning, at 11:30 PM, you'll start to feel mild electric shocks from the ankle monitor. Unless you return to your room, they'll increase in strength every minute until it's enough to knock you out. If that happens, you won't wake until curfew ends at 8AM the next morning.

For the more obedient residents, you at least get to stay up later. Quite strangely, even if you're a night owl, around 1AM, an intense drowsiness will start to overtake you. Even if you try your hardest to fight it, you'll be very deeply asleep by 2AM. However, curiously, those less obedient residents will awake in their rooms at 8AM with everyone else.

It seems that someone wants you all asleep tonight.

If your character will be staying elsewhere for the night, please comment here.

trial #1 - execution

DAY 2 (evening)
Complex Population: 34

At 7PM, a tone rings out, but it's not Judy's voice that filters out over the intercom.

"TALLYING VOTES. . ."

The voice is mechanical and robotic, and a pause lingers in the air. It seems that the voting system is run by some kind of AI.

"CONSENSUS REACHED. MAJORITY VOTE---"

The voice is interrupted by a loud screeching, but in the midst of it, you might be able to pick out a few words: NULL ERROR NULL ERROR RECOVERING FROM FATAL ERROR REBOOTING. There's a moment of silence, and then the voice speaks up again as if it had started halfway through a sentence.

"--LTY. STATUS: INNOCENT. DIVA, PROCEED TO THE JUDGEMENT THEATER. CHARGING..."

There's the sound of clicking, and Diva will receive a very sharp shock to their ankle monitor. If they don't step into the judgement room, the shock will increase in strength every ten seconds until they're unconscious. Regardless, the voice continues to drone on.

"DESIGNATING EXECUTIONER. . . SAKYOU SAGIHARA. SAKYOU SAGIHARA, PROCEED TO THE JUDGEMENT THEATER. CHARGING..."

The second person will receive the same treatment. No one else will be able to step into the judgement theater after them without receiving a nasty shock before they can step too close, and once they're both inside, the door closes behind both of them. There's a clicking sound from the walls, and the panels on the right side of the room are pulled up to reveal a thick glass that allows you to look into the Judgement Theater.

It seems justice is meant to come from the the hands of the jury.

DAY 2 (afternoon)
Complex Population: 34

At noon, the same tone from the morning rings out, and Judy's voice filters out over the intercom.

"Good afternoon, residents. As per Safety Protocol 6227-A, it is time to conduct a trial to bring justice for the victim. Please proceed to the courtroom on the first level."

If you're confused as to what she means, you'll see that the room across from the cafeteria is unlocked, as well as the room connected to it.

Just as at night, if you don't go to the courtroom, you'll be treated to an electric shock of increasing strength until you go to the courtroom or are unconscious. Though considering the ominous penalty for not participating in a trial, you should likely just go rather than risk not voting because you've been knocked out by your own stubbornness... Once you're in the courtroom, you'll find that bottled water and light snacks are provided, but otherwise you'll have to bring anything else you may need.

As you come to your conclusions about who to vote for, you can step into the judgement theater to cast your vote at the terminal. You may change your vote as many times as you'd like, but at 7PM, your vote (or lack thereof) is locked in.

You have until 7PM to discuss and vote for who you think the murderer is.

DAY TWO (morning)

DAY 2 (morning)
Complex Population: 34

It's 8AM, and rather than waking naturally, you awake to the sound of an odd tone ringing through the intercom. As you wake from that deep, dreamless sleep that enforces curfew as always, Judy's voice speaks up a few moments after.

"A death has occurred. Safety Protocol 6227-A is now in effect. Protocol now available on Complex terminals."

That ominous message might prompt you to leave your room more quickly. You can check out the terminal, where a new file is available, but as you head into the atrium, you might notice something else.

The viewing stage is open.

It seems that someone was busy during the night.

This post is for the second day as defined in the schedule. This post is for investigation and general mingling before the trial that takes place in the afternoon IC.

DAY 1
Complex Population: 35

( October 3 - October 6 )

It's 8AM, and you wake from that deep, dreamless sleep that enforces curfew as always.

There's breakfast avaliable in the cafeteria if you want it, as well as meals from 11AM-12PM and 7PM-8PM, but otherwise? The day is yours. Take your time to explore the complex, relax, and enjoy each others' company, as who knows what the next day has in store?

Though as you explore, you may notice that there's a new door unlocked and a new place for you to spend the day. One of the locked doors on the second floor is now open, so residents can partake in the clean, modest gym if you're the kind to keep in shape.

This post is for the first day as defined in the schedule. This post is for general mingling and CR buidling, and will not include significant plot interaction.

Welcome to our first night post! These posts are not for interactions, and are instead a general signal to the game that role posts are up and overnight stays need to be submitted. This post begins the normal schedule, though please continue to play on the Day Zero post! Another mingle post that follows our normal schedule will be posted tomorrow.

If your character will be staying elsewhere for the night, please comment here.

week zero

DAY 0
Complex Population: 36

( September 30 - October 1 )

You awake as if from a deep sleep.

The first thing you might notice are colors, since you'll find yourself sitting in a pretty garish room. This looks like a restaurant or cafeteria of some kind, but for now, there's no food in sight. At least you're not alone. There are 35 other people here, and they're all stirring too, probably looking just as confused as you are. As you wake, you're also likely to feel a heaviness on your ankle, and as you look down, you'll see what looks like some kind of ankle monitor strapped there.

Just as you might start to question where you are, a voice speaks up from an intercom system. It's a calm, cool female voice.

"Good morning, residents. Welcome to the Complex. We hope that you enjoy your time here. We'd like to thank you for choosing to stay with us."

Choose? Did you really choose to be here? Try as you might to recall that event, you certainly have no memory of that, though as you start to think, other gaps in your memory may appear... But there's no time to think of those, since the calm voice continues without pause.

"My name is Judy, and I'll be providing for your basic needs during your stay. You may contact me through any terminal in the Complex, though I may not always be able to answer immediately depending on what I may be attending to. As we are busy setting up for your stay still, it may be up to twenty-four hours before I can respond to any inquiries. For now, let's review your rooming assignments..."

Judy begins to drone on, calling out names as she lists off rooms and who is assigned to them, but no matter how you might protest, it seems like she doesn't hear you. Looks like you better get familiar with these people, since it sounds like you could be rooming with up to four of them.

"Finally, I would like to remind all residents that there are restrictions on both occupancy and a curfew. Apartments may not house any more than five people, and mandatory curfew begins at 11PM. However, these systems are not quite operational yet, so we will allow these rules to be broken until the proper systems are back online. We expect this to take no longer than three days, so you may enjoy this freedom responsibly until Monday evening."

Where you've woken up is a strange place, and many doors are locked, but there's at least some places open for exploration. There are also plenty of people seemingly stuck in the same situation as you, so they might be worth getting to know.

After all, who knows how long you'll be here?

Welcome to [community profile] 62! This is our first post, and it acts as a general mingle to start off the game. Check out the setting, make toplevels, and tag around. For now, Judy won't be able to be contacted (she's very busy, you know), so this is a general CR building post before we dive into the game proper.

The first night post will be on Sunday, so if you have a role, you should have already been contacted. This will begin the normal schedule as described here. There will be another day post on Monday, and this is where characters will have an opportunity to talk to Judy. In addition, as she mentioned, there will be a mandated curfew to go along with the rooming restrictions, but these won't be in effect until the next game post on Monday. Enjoy your freedom while it lasts!

Finally, remember that if your character would like to use the commissary to note what they're taking!
