day one
![]() Complex Population: 35 ( October 3 - October 6 ) It's 8AM, and you wake from that deep, dreamless sleep that enforces curfew as always. There's breakfast avaliable in the cafeteria if you want it, as well as meals from 11AM-12PM and 7PM-8PM, but otherwise? The day is yours. Take your time to explore the complex, relax, and enjoy each others' company, as who knows what the next day has in store? Though as you explore, you may notice that there's a new door unlocked and a new place for you to spend the day. One of the locked doors on the second floor is now open, so residents can partake in the clean, modest gym if you're the kind to keep in shape. This post is for the first day as defined in the schedule. This post is for general mingling and CR buidling, and will not include significant plot interaction. character statuses character profiles private conversations |

[ This figures.
Spend your life as some weird experiment, keep being one. Elizabeth feels angry and it's obvious as such as her fists ball against the terminal. Age, features, skills? She wants to rip the damn monitor from its stand in anger. Someone hd done their research. Someone knows about her. Someone has invaded her privacy and worse - trapped her once more.
The line about running in high heels was the icing on the cake.
If you get a chance to look at the profile cards, Elizabeth is storming away out of anger. ]
Need to get out, now.
[ She says to no one but herself, but feel free to tag along. ]
no subject
And Elizabeth had been kind to him, considering everything, so when she storms out in an obviously upset state, he'll gently follow after.]
Are you going to look for an exit again...?
no subject
The people who have taken her here had studied her and she feels a crack of cold crash down her spine. It's not until Sakyou stops and speaks that she composes herself with a dig for her cigarettes and lighter. ]
Only thing we can do, right? The people who brought us here have some interesting information on us, but there's a flaw. There has to be a flaw to their system.
no subject
[A quiet sort of agreement. Still, everything in this place is so far over his head that he can't be sure he'd be of any use when it comes to actually finding said flaws.]
Where do you think theirs might be? Do you have a direction to start in?
[A little guidance might be good, in any case.]
no subject
[ She says matter of factly. ]
Either ignorance or misinformation could lead to her proving herself to be a hinderance. She's not informed on all the ongoings of - [ She waves her hands vaguely. ] Whatever this is.
no subject
I was speaking with someone yesterday about attempting to locate her. Do you think that would be a good path to pursue?
no subject
[ But... ]
Anything's possible, but we can't trace where she is.
no subject
[A little sigh. He figured as much, but he has no idea how to get closer to that goal.]

[alvin's skeptical, but he's not unwilling, for whatever it's worth. he's not really too pleased with the profile situation either—he's taken note of hers, but that doesn't seem to be much of a factor at the moment.
calming her down is probably the best thing he can try to do (even if he's got no confidence he can actually succeed), so sparking a conversation's the only way he knows how to start.]

even still...]
You want a hand? No invasive conversation included.

[ Elizabeth was already walking. Her eyes looking upwards until they stopped at one singular airvent. It was tiny around the size that a cat could crawl into, but, it's worth a shot. ]
It's a damn shame these vents are tiny, but I was curious about something. Do you mind giving me a lift?
[ As in, help her up to look inside of the vents because we didn't get enough of this shit in Cradle, honestly. ]
no subject
but really, alvin's just looking up at the vent, tilting his head to the side.]
Do you think you could fit very far in there? [he's not expecting her to be able to crawl through it, no—but if she could get a clear shot of where it leads, they may be onto something.]
You just tell me what kind of lift you want, and you got it. [as in, he's not going to get touchy feely; he's sure he could lift her from the waist just fine, but also assumes setting her on his shoulders may be the easier way to go.
he's being a gentleman about it, at least?]
no subject
Either way, she shakes her head. ]
No, not with this waistline. But I may be able to see something like the layout - where this leads.
[ Teasing, but she offers him to come closer. If he does, she'll motion for him to offer his hand so she could step into it and he could, of course, lift her up.
No titties in the face or upskirt shots, just pressed up against you a bit. ]
Ready?
[ She says with compact mirror and lighter in hand. ]

Wait.
[ by now, lara knows this woman as elizabeth, and she knows the meaning behind the eyeliner and red lips, too. twenty years old, and she must be dressing herself up to look older, to hide something.
she's a capable person. lara can respect that, but she wonders why, for all of those things. ]
Do you even have a clue where you're going?
no subject
Nothing more than any of you. That's the problem. [ She fidgets a bit, losing a cool demeanor that she built up over a few days time. ] If they have data on us - intel - that means they need it. A study? Some... some experimentation. It has to be.
no subject
[ that's a key point that bothers lara. she sees the point of the people in charge acquiring that info, of having it on file. that makes sense. releasing it to them, though, what for? ]
Experimentation, perhaps, but I was thinking more of a threat... Or a warning.
no subject
[ She's dealt with captors holding her information, but facing them head on? She's not so sure she's strong enough for that. ]
no subject
Skills, height, weight - generalized information, but the specifications on our skills is what I'm considering. The impression you get from mine, Elizabeth, what is it?
no subject
Whoa, hey, what's going on? [Look he understands being mad but this is still a shift in demeanor he's uncertain about.]
no subject
Don't touch me -! [ She says with a quaky voice and she stumbles back. She's not close to crying or anything, but she's so angry. ] They're keeping tabs on us - have our information all lined up and that means they know us. They know who we are and picked us for some reason we can't even fathom.
no subject
...I know. [He takes a deep breath, sliding his hands into the pockets of his shorts.] I know, I don't like it either, but don't you think that means they're also expecting us to freak out a little?
no subject
Let me guess, the bracelet will have some explosive or static discharge if we get too rowdy? Luke, was it? I don't do well caged and this invasion of privacy is -
[ Look, she straightens her blouse a bit, looking away. ]
Tell me. Are you missing anything special about you since arriving?
no subject
You're thinking on a small scale, first of all. For all we know these things could kick in with full-body paralysis. [He catches on the word caged though and while he has questions, he knows better than to ask while she's freaking out a little.
He puts some distance between them, taking a breath and nodding along.]
If you mean "almost everything" then yeah, I've got the same problem. [He's annoyed by it, truthfully, but he also doesn't see much of a reason to hide it since she's asking.] But that also depends what you mean by special.
no subject
[ Did it matter? Whatever the bracelets could be rigged with, they're there for a reason. Tracking, discipline - same thing in the long run. ]
I'll be honest with you - [ No. ] - I came here with a pinky intact. I showed that Bigby fellow so what harm is another?
[ She lifts her hand, flexing the digit. ]
No incision, no proof of healing, no stitching or discoloration. Before I woke up among this merry band of strangers? I lived my entire life with this pinky gone.
[ okay, Elizabeth kinda told the truth. ]
Our captors have a science or - or - magic of some such I've never seen.
