day one
![]() Complex Population: 35 ( October 3 - October 6 ) It's 8AM, and you wake from that deep, dreamless sleep that enforces curfew as always. There's breakfast avaliable in the cafeteria if you want it, as well as meals from 11AM-12PM and 7PM-8PM, but otherwise? The day is yours. Take your time to explore the complex, relax, and enjoy each others' company, as who knows what the next day has in store? Though as you explore, you may notice that there's a new door unlocked and a new place for you to spend the day. One of the locked doors on the second floor is now open, so residents can partake in the clean, modest gym if you're the kind to keep in shape. This post is for the first day as defined in the schedule. This post is for general mingling and CR buidling, and will not include significant plot interaction. character statuses character profiles private conversations |

[Well this is new! Profiles. Dojima's is all the way down, the very last one, and he reads it with a sardonic smile]
Being stubborn...I guess they're right about that.
[Even if it's not a flattering thing, Dojima can't say it isn't correct. Besides, he has a lot of other profiles to read, and...and...what the hell is wrong here? There are so many profiles with oddities Dojima isn't sure where to be baffled at!]
This can't be all accurate. There has to be some sort of mistake in many of these.
October 4
[Dojima had checked the gym before and hadn't found anything that could help, but since he's here, well, why not to give some stuff here a try? He's no Hercules, but he's strong enough to use the gym equipment at respectable weights and difficulties, although...judging by the way he's straining, looks like he doesn't exercise that often.
Feel free to interrupt him if you wish]
october 3!
I don't get it. What's the problem?
no subject
Look at these..."Age, 967", "Age: 855", "between 200 and 300"...
[...]
There's no way it's correct.
[And that's without talking about certain abilities some of the people in this complex have, supposedly. What the hell did Dojima get into?]
no subject
I mean, they don't really look their ages, but that's not unheard of...
[There are plenty of people who are more long-lived than that where she comes from, so maybe she's not the best person to commiserate with him on how weird this is. Sorry, Dojima.]
Almost a thousand years is pretty old though. How'd he last that long without someone picking him off?
no subject
[What the hell? When did the world turn upside-down? You know what, better not think about it too much or else he'll just not believe it]
It's not that hard to live without stepping on other people's toes. There's no reason to be killed.
[Said with all the lack of experience a forty-one years old person can have when it's about long lives]
no subject
[Well that's a cheerful thought.]
Then again, I guess if you're that old, you'd be better at choosing your words carefully.

oct 3!
But fortunately he's a mature dude! A mature ye olde dude, but nonetheless.]
I'll admit, there are some pieces of information in here that even I was surprised to see.
Re: oct 3!
Like what, exactly?
[Your opinion is important, other people's insight is always useful. Since you're here Dojima checks Sakyou's profile, to see if he was one of the few that had gotten his attention. Nope, it wasn't, but now that he takes a second look...]
"Making sure people remember to bathe"?
no subject
[He lives with some real... stinky punks... Or just paranoid ones who don't like bathing in front of others.]
Mine isn't surprising, but I wasn't expecting to see some of the others - that's what I meant. The ages are a little...
no subject
Yes, the ages. Of course no one can be eight hundred years old. And some people's skills...look at that: "magical forms of combat", "scorpion-summoning", "mass murder"...
I'm really hoping something went wrong when typing some of this information.
[Because otherwise everyone is in bigger trouble than expected, and Dojima will have no way to deal with any of that]
no subject
Concerned, though? Definitely.]
If it's correct, we'll have to be more discerning in the way we go about things here, I'd imagine.

Are you a private investigator or a detective, or is it merely a hobby?
Re: october 3rd
I'm a police detective, back at home. I guess there's no sense in trying to keep it secret now.
no subject
Why would you try to keep it secret? It is a good career.
no subject
[Dojima raises his voice slightly]
Wouldn't you count on the detective to solve it all? I'm a trained professional, but I can't promise to get everyone out of here just because I'm a detective.
I'd rather not to get anyone's hopes way too high.
[Dojima is not lacking in skill - in fact he's rather good! - but he can't carry everyone's hopes just like that. He fully intends to catch the kidnappers and make them pay, but he'd rather work without people relying on him for everything]
no subject
Because you think it is impossible, or because you do not trust your own skills?

What makes you think there're mistakes?
no subject
They can't expect anyone to believe someone is more than 200 years old, much less that there are three like that here.
[He stops in Luke's profile, eyeing it with puzzlement]
And several profiles have such...fantastical "skills" I'm seriously wondering if they're trying to pull my leg.
no subject
Of course when Dojima pulls up Luke's profile he fixes him with an innocent look. Go on. Ask whatever you want to ask.]
What makes you so certain these are just a joke? [A pause.] Wait there's three people here hundreds of years old?
no subject
Speaking of weird things, now that you're here Dojima may as well prod you for explanations as to the stuff you have in your skills, Luke! And he knows very well what to start with]
"Scorpion-summoning", Castellan?

Think it's broken, but it's not wrong. [Who's going to argue with him?]

It's only the slightest bit disconcerting. But seeing this man comment about the profiles—]
... Have you found an inaccuracy in yours?
Re: oct 3
[As an example, he shows Mitsutada's profile and taps at the age, "Age: 967"]
Does this look to you like something that could be true?
[He's fully expecting a 'no']
no subject
No. If it were, I would be concerned about what health issues he could be facing. [#oldmanjokes] Perhaps even curious about how he achieved such longevity, assuming he's human.
no subject
I'll ask him later.
[He kept scrolling]
Although I don't know if I'll believe anything he tells me. I'm having a hard time understanding all these...strange things. 'Psychic knowledge', 'fonic artes', anything that seems like magic. I don't know what to think of all that.
