DAY 1 Complex Population: 35 ( October 3 - October 6 ) It's 8AM, and you wake from that deep, dreamless sleep that enforces curfew as always. There's breakfast avaliable in the cafeteria if you want it, as well as meals from 11AM-12PM and 7PM-8PM, but otherwise? The day is yours. Take your time to explore the complex, relax, and enjoy each others' company, as who knows what the next day has in store? Though as you explore, you may notice that there's a new door unlocked and a new place for you to spend the day. One of the locked doors on the second floor is now open, so residents can partake in the clean, modest gym if you're the kind to keep in shape. — This post is for the first day as defined in the schedule. Look around yourself, we're all trapped and at the mercy of a kidnapper or a group of kidnappers.

[Dojima raises his voice slightly]

Wouldn't you count on the detective to solve it all? I'm a trained professional, but I can't promise to get everyone out of here just because I'm a detective.

I'd rather not to get anyone's hopes way too high.

[Dojima is not lacking in skill - in fact he's rather good! - but he can't carry everyone's hopes just like that. He fully intends to catch the kidnappers and make them pay, but he'd rather work without people relying on him for everything]

Because you think it is impossible, or because you do not trust your own skills?

Neither. I trust my skills and I'm sure I'll catch the kidnappers, that much I promise you.

But I don't know if we'll all be out of here before two months. I know people rely on the authorities such as me to help them and take them to safety, and I intend to do that, but I can't say for sure we'll be able to escape before two months pass.

[It's a bit difficult for Dojima to explain, and to be honest he feels like he's making up excuses to not to have to be the only person working hard in this place, but after the pressure and the constant disappointment everyone back at Inaba had about not catching the culprit of those two murders he's not eager to have too much pressure piled onto him]

Besides, I'm not the only law authority in this place. That man, Alfendi Layton, he seems like a detective too, judging by all those skills. And there's...Franziska Von Karma. She's a prosecutor.

[Prodigy prosecutor, nineteen years old. Well...since Naoto Shirogane is a real and accomplished detective while being sixteen maybe a nineteen year old prosecutor isn't that much of a stretch]

I have spoken to Franziska. She seems very competent and intelligent. I think she will be useful in finding a way to escape, especially with our assistance.

I hope so. We're going to need all the help we can get. Is she really carrying a whip around?

I do not recall seeing her carrying one, but her profile does seem to indicate so.

[Somehow that's kind of a relief. Why would one need to carry a whip around everywhere? He rereads her profile before scrolling past it, but her prodigy status reminds him of someone he knows back at home. A feeling of longing for Inaba overcomes him]

Amazing, she's only nineteen years old...it feels strange to know someone so young is working as a prosecutor. Usually 'prodigies' are rather despised by their older co-workers, but that may depend of their attitude.

If this Franziska knows to listen and doesn't alienate everyone she should be fine.

Why would they be despised by their older coworkers? I do not understand.

Many don't like these young prodigies telling them how to do their jobs.

[A note of bitterness seeps into Dojima's tone. He tolerates Naoto and actually likes he is so focused on the case, but Naoto's attitude was rather alineating]

Especially when those experienced adults refuse to admit they're wrong. It's matter of pride for some.

I see. Pride, and... jealousy, perhaps? To see someone excel at an age when they didn't.

I should get going. It seems there's a new place available, I better check if there's anything of use in there.

[Ava seems decently intelligent and she's keeping a rather calm attitude despite being trapped in this place, but better to ask her, Dojima supposes. There'll always be people who look like they're feeling better than they actually are]
