At noon, the same tone from the morning rings out, and Judy's voice filters out over the intercom.

"Good afternoon, residents. As per Safety Protocol 6227-A, it is time to conduct a trial to bring justice for the victim. Please proceed to the courtroom on the first level."

Just as at night, if you don't go to the courtroom, you'll be treated to an electric shock of increasing strength until you go to the courtroom or are unconscious. Though considering the ominous penalty for not participating in a trial, you should likely just go rather than risk not voting because you've been knocked out by your own stubbornness... Once you're in the courtroom, you'll find that bottled water and light snacks are provided, but otherwise you'll have to bring anything else you may need.

As you come to your conclusions about who to vote for, you can step into the judgement theater to cast your vote at the terminal. You may change your vote as many times as you'd like, but at 7PM, your vote (or lack thereof) is locked in.

You have until 7PM to discuss and vote for who you think the murderer is.

[Technical know-how, again... Her gaze wanders from Steve to Rhys, considering.] Not that we're going to get completely honest answers if we ask about it now, of course.

Yeah. It looked like a battery, I think. Were there batteries in the technology lab?

[He doesn't remember, he hasn't been in there too much.]

Ha! I bet people will pull the whole "just because I know about technology doesn't mean I did it" farce. At this point, I want all those idiots lined up and questioned, I don't even care.

[Do the mini robots you can build in the tech lab require batteries?? WHO KNOWS. Probably. I know jack all about robotics.]

That's not a bad place to start. We should - [She takes a step forward and sways on her feet, throwing out an arm to catch herself against the wall. Damn it, fountain sickness.] ...well, maybe someone else should head up that interrogation.

[But she's got the whip to, uh... encourage people to answer, if they don't seem inclined to.]

With the collars and the bombs... There is someone I suspect may be, at the very least, partially responsible for this.

[Alfendi shakes his head.]

[She's glancing at Rhys from across the room, with his identical collar.]

... Whenever I am hurt, Rhys will be receive a similar amount of pain through an electric shock. The inverse is also true.

[He's silent for a moment.]

What if one of you dies?

Then I assume the other would receive a fatal shock. Seems up to par with everything we've seen so far.

[She doesn't seem to upset by the idea of dying, however.]

[He stares at her, thinking.]

Then one of you or the both of you must be a staff member. Because that's a perfect little plan on how to protect themselves. People won't take a chance voting on someone who will drag someone else down with them.

... I don't want to believe that is the case, but if it is—

[She swallows thickly here, because she's alive and it may be a second chance. But. But...]

Then know I am not afraid of dying if it means taking out a member of the staff. Do not hesitate to cast your vote if your theory proves to be correct.

There are many here who come from ancient times. Those seem less likely to know how to assemble a bomb.

Anything that could help narrow down the list of potential suspects would be useful right now.

Not exactly. Even in my modern times [Maybe our modern times, he isn't sure from when Alice comes from] an average person knowing how to make bombs isn't outlandish, mostly because there's access to materials and to information or instructions on how to do it.

I see... the average person doesn't know how to make bombs where I come from, so it's a little hard for me to wrap my mind around. That sort of information isn't readily available, either.
