DAY 6 (afternoon) Complex Population: 27 At noon, the same tone from the morning rings out, and Judy's voice filters out over the intercom. "Good afternoon, residents. As per Safety Protocol 6227-A, it is time to conduct a trial to bring justice for the victim. Please proceed to the courtroom on the first level." Just as at night, if you don't go to the courtroom, you'll be treated to an electric shock of increasing strength until you go to the courtroom or are unconscious. Though considering the ominous penalty for not participating in a trial, you should likely just go rather than risk not voting because you've been knocked out by your own stubbornness... Once you're in the courtroom, you'll find that bottled water and light snacks are provided, but otherwise you'll have to bring anything else you may need. As you come to your conclusions about who to vote for, you can step into the judgement theater to cast your vote at the terminal. You may change your vote as many times as you'd like, but at 7PM, your vote (or lack thereof) is locked in. That may be true, but we may be considering the likelihood of staff coordination too much. Even Franziska voted for Lara after all. To assume all staff did might be misleading.

And votes aren't everything. He's the kind of guy who never seems to want to share his opinions, but insist everyone else gives them.

I've actually been suspicious of him since the first death.

You know when we first got here and we were looking around? I went to the apartment he was in because I heard my name get called twice before I knew there were two of us. Cici was in there, and he was super adamant that he was going to get the bed.

...but after Charles turned up dead, Cici said that Charles was the one who slept in the bed the first night. It's a petty reason to kill someone, but I've seen people killed for pettier.

He's also... well, you heard him, didn't you? The first trial, he pointed fingers pretty fast. He also seems like he's really careful to contribute but not contribute too much. He shares opinions sometimes, but not too much. He's trying a little too hard not to stand out.

And then, earlier, when we started talking about suspects, he distracted us all by having us check for injuries. It was pretty subtle, but it was the same kind of distraction we thought that staff members might be doing to throw us off the scent.

Only because you're acting, again, like an asshole. I'm sure if she was around, she would be getting into fights with us too. But she would also try to help, in her own way.

He doesn't really seem all that suspicious to me. I mean, there is that bit in his profile, but... that seems like the kind of thing that's meant to make us suspect him, don't you think?

The kind of thing someone who works for this company might put in someone's profile to deflect suspicions from themselves.

I'll admit, you raise a good point. Not about the bed, but the injury thing. And we know from Luke that staff members kill individually. He might have gone after Charles himself.

I dislike Alvin but I'm not sure what I think his loyalties might be. He did suggest the abstention vote idea, but kept insisting it wasn't "his" idea. That's why I was refusing to go along with it at first...he kept not wanting credit for something we only considered because of him.

Some of us have worse things in our pasts than others. I'm surprised there aren't more bad things in mine, but it's possible he was just unlucky and had more obviously bad things to put in there.

That doesn't necessarily mean he's doing bad things now.

I wouldn't put it past him to have gone after Charles. ♡ That's part of what makes Cici so interesting.

When pressed, sure. Franziska told me she found it strange that he opened the floor to suggestions without offering his own, and then seemed willing to point to Leo when it got brought up again.

I don't want to send a kid to take the fall for this, but Alice raises some good points. I'm not to say I don't have my suspicions over everyone, but Veronica... do you think it's possible?
