trial #3

DAY 6 (afternoon)
Complex Population: 27

At noon, the same tone from the morning rings out, and Judy's voice filters out over the intercom.

"Good afternoon, residents. As per Safety Protocol 6227-A, it is time to conduct a trial to bring justice for the victim. Please proceed to the courtroom on the first level."

Just as at night, if you don't go to the courtroom, you'll be treated to an electric shock of increasing strength until you go to the courtroom or are unconscious. Though considering the ominous penalty for not participating in a trial, you should likely just go rather than risk not voting because you've been knocked out by your own stubbornness... Once you're in the courtroom, you'll find that bottled water and light snacks are provided, but otherwise you'll have to bring anything else you may need.

As you come to your conclusions about who to vote for, you can step into the judgement theater to cast your vote at the terminal. You may change your vote as many times as you'd like, but at 7PM, your vote (or lack thereof) is locked in.

You have until 7PM to discuss and vote for who you think the murderer is.

Voting will close at 9PM EST on 10/22.

...mm, I'm not sure about that.

[Alice taps the side of her cheek thoughtfully.]

If he was a staff member, why wouldn't he have just voted for Lara? She was the second most likely to get voted for aside from Luke. By voting for Franzy instead, he made it possible for a staff member to get executed along with her.

[personal profile] onepunchgirl 2016-10-23 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
That may be true, but we may be considering the likelihood of staff coordination too much. Even Franziska voted for Lara after all. To assume all staff did might be misleading.

And votes aren't everything. He's the kind of guy who never seems to want to share his opinions, but insist everyone else gives them.

Could that be a judge of character, I wonder...? I do believe Alvin's a bit flighty... but he's helped when I've assisted.

[ That says something, he thinks? ]

We're all strangers and it's evident more in some than others.

He doesn't really seem all that suspicious to me. I mean, there is that bit in his profile, but... that seems like the kind of thing that's meant to make us suspect him, don't you think?

The kind of thing someone who works for this company might put in someone's profile to deflect suspicions from themselves.

If that was the case, wouldn't we all have bad things about us in our profiles?
selfsufficiency: (and i can kill you)

[personal profile] selfsufficiency 2016-10-23 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
Some of us have worse things in our pasts than others. I'm surprised there aren't more bad things in mine, but it's possible he was just unlucky and had more obviously bad things to put in there.

That doesn't necessarily mean he's doing bad things now.

You have a point, buuuut... to betray people he has to get them to trust him first, right? I don't think enough of us trust him to make that really apply here.

Something silly. Those profile cards are a joke.

Yiffing. Furry sex.

Yes, mine says I'm skilled at hitting myself with plush pillows. I wouldn't take them too seriously.

I dislike Alvin but I'm not sure what I think his loyalties might be. He did suggest the abstention vote idea, but kept insisting it wasn't "his" idea. That's why I was refusing to go along with it at first...he kept not wanting credit for something we only considered because of him.
onepunchgirl: (Default)

[personal profile] onepunchgirl 2016-10-23 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
Taking credit also means taking blame if shit hits the fan.
liven: (BEDHEAD ► eternally.)

Yes, so? I'll take credit for everything I say. It annoys me when others can't do the same.
onepunchgirl: (I'm so blue)

[personal profile] onepunchgirl 2016-10-23 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
What I mean is someone who thinks their plan may backfire will lack the conviction to stand by it even if it means being blamed. That's the kind of person Alvin strikes me as.

That's because I teased the idea to have him ask Judy for help. He was reaping what I sowed. I wouldn't want to take that blame either.

[ Elizabeth is indifferent. ]

He's a charmer, from my first experience with him. The man has a silver tongue and isn't afraid to use it. Getting caught wagging it is how you can get killed in a situation like this, I'd say.
onepunchgirl: (Heartache by the numbers)

[personal profile] onepunchgirl 2016-10-23 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
When pressed, sure. Franziska told me she found it strange that he opened the floor to suggestions without offering his own, and then seemed willing to point to Leo when it got brought up again.

[The thread in question for reference. ]
liven: (EXPLAIN ► here we go bro.)

[personal profile] liven 2016-10-23 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, that's why I decided I hated him on the first day. He refused to be the one behind the abstention thing that he brought forward.
onepunchgirl: (Shadow of the Valley)

[personal profile] onepunchgirl 2016-10-23 01:38 am (UTC)(link)

That is a bit... odd.
onepunchgirl: (I'm so blue)

[personal profile] onepunchgirl 2016-10-23 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. I thought it was strange honestly, but I went with Luke to not split the votes.

[personal profile] tearable 2016-10-23 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
But, I don't think it's enough to condemn him. Flighty nature or not. No offense, but I can't take Franziska's words to heart. I'm not... I'm biased right now.
