DAY FIVE
![]() Complex Population: ??? It's 8AM, and you wake from that deep, dreamless sleep that enforces curfew as always. There's breakfast avaliable in the cafeteria if you want it, as well as meals from 11AM-12PM and 7PM-8PM, but otherwise? The day is yours. Take your time to explore the complex, relax, and enjoy each others' company, as who knows what the next day has in store? Though as you explore, you may notice that there's a new door unlocked and a new place for you to spend the day. Even better, it's two rooms! You'll find a dated computer lab, but at least you can play classics like Kid Pix and Ski Free. Connected to the lab is also a small movie theater, though the movie selection only goes up to 1940... Also, anyone taking a stroll by the fountain this morning may notice something odd about it. The water is red. This post is for the first day as defined in the schedule. This post is for general mingling and CR buidling, and will not include significant plot interaction. ic rulebook character statuses character profiles private conversations graveyard |

There was a lot. [ He closes his eyes to remember. If he were in a less frantic state right now, it'd be easier. ] He said... he lied because he was staff. He knew since the first day but—he meant what he said. That we understood each other and that's why... [ He looks especially pained. Sorry Alice, if you thought you were getting good information, turns out it's just sappy shit. ]
He talked about four. Four days. Like, love, dead. He says he's gone but in another lifetime... we could start over. But he can't really be gone, right? If he sent this?

Either that or he's just not being truthful because he doesn't want to share whatever the information is. Alice isn't sure if he's a good enough actor to do that - to fake this kind of emotional reaction - but she can't discount the possibility.]
...if you think he might not really be gone, if you think he really sent it, then where do you think he went?
[The real question: What sort of afterlife has wifi access?]

I don't know. Have you ever seen a ghost? I have. It's not impossible. We might not be able to see him because there's not enough energy, but he could be around.

So you think he's... haunting us? Do you think the others are too?
[Maybe Diva angrily haunting the complex is why a lot of people seem to be having bad luck.]

But it's not like—like he could have faked his death or anything, right? His body was there.

Alice is not a sympathetic person.]
There's no way he could have faked it. It was confirmed.

... It was. But maybe this is a way to tell me that it's not over. I just don't know... what to do about it.
no subject
What is there to do about it? Unless, you know, you believe in an afterlife.
[In which case, they can just kill him off in the next trial and he can join Luke in death.]

I don't know. I was never that religious. But I guess there has to be, if he's really dead and still communicating. He has to be somewhere, in some place.
Don't you want to know where?
no subject
[She shrugs.] But I'm not interested in escaping this place by dying, so unless he's willing to start spilling the other staff members' secrets from beyond the grave, I don't see what the point is.

But it could lead us to a way out. [ He doesn't really believe that but he wants other people to be interested in this. ] He has a computer and a network that's not necessarily this room. He's somewhere else, so we should find that.

... He said probably no one cares about him dying. Maybe he's not telling us because of that. I'd need to get a message back to him or multiple people could.

[If it... really was him who sent it. She still wouldn't be surprised if this was all a figment of Adam's grief-stricken imagination, or if Judy was the one sending the message.]
I don't know anything about that kind of stuff - [she waves a hand at the computers] - so don't ask me how to send something back. But if he's haunting us, wouldn't he be able to see right now that you want to talk to him?
