DAY 4 (afternoon) Complex Population: 32 At noon, the same tone from the morning rings out, and Judy's voice filters out over the intercom. "Good afternoon, residents. As per Safety Protocol 6227-A, it is time to conduct a trial to bring justice for the victim. Please proceed to the courtroom on the first level." Just as at night, if you don't go to the courtroom, you'll be treated to an electric shock of increasing strength until you go to the courtroom or are unconscious. Though considering the ominous penalty for not participating in a trial, you should likely just go rather than risk not voting because you've been knocked out by your own stubbornness... Once you're in the courtroom, you'll find that bottled water and light snacks are provided, but otherwise you'll have to bring anything else you may need. As you come to your conclusions about who to vote for, you can step into the judgement theater to cast your vote at the terminal. You may change your vote as many times as you'd like, but at 7PM, your vote (or lack thereof) is locked in. Yes. They could easily be throwing us wrong ideas.

Or distracting from the real issues, which happened last time and led to Diva's execution because she was the easiest target.

It's not like we have a lot of time to figure this thing out as it is. All it would take is one long, wrong trail.

So do you think we should be working from as many angles as possible instead of getting caught up on one particular thing?

[daturah]

Or perhaps keep an eye out on people who are too eager to help.

[antietam]

Too eager... wouldn't that be encouraging people not to speak up? We don't want to stop actual theories.

Not participating in a stupid train of thought, though, would be helpful for everyone to try.

[daturah]

How would you respond to far fetched crack theories when you feel your life is on the line?

[antietam]

... I guess I'd cling to anything, particularly something that would point to someone who isn't me.

And that's exactly what the staff members want. We need to encourage everyone to be logical.

[daturah]

There will be people who will shoot down anything that might be helpful, as well.

[antietam]

Of course. And we need to keep an eye out for them.

What do you think we should do? You must have had an idea.

[daturah]

[She hesitates, and for once, it's not out of false modesty.]

As it is, the lack of evidence works against us. We only have guessing to depend on. The staff, on the other hand, have enough ammunition aside from leverage to shut down our progress.

If we're going to play a game of elimination, our only chance is to watch out for mistakes

[daturah]

I know it's not a great suggestion, but we need leverage on our side too and all we have our wits and threats, and the latter wasn't helpful last time because it wasn't the right sort of threat.

[antietam]

I get it. I think you're right, we can't afford more mistakes or we're just doing their job for them.

But what sort of leverage can we have?

[daturah]

We have to possess something that they need from us.

I'm sorry. That's the only thing I can come up with.
