DAY THREE
![]() Complex Population: 33 It's 8AM, and you wake from that deep, dreamless sleep that enforces curfew as always. There's breakfast avaliable in the cafeteria if you want it, as well as meals from 11AM-12PM and 7PM-8PM, but otherwise? The day is yours. Take your time to explore the complex, relax, and enjoy each others' company, as who knows what the next day has in store? Though as you explore, you may notice that there's a new door unlocked and a new place for you to spend the day. There's a workshop and tinkering lab that you can now access. It includes everything from power tools to more terminals (so no need to crowd around the commissary terminal to chat with Judy anymore). As tempting as all these tools may be, they cannot be removed from the lab. Only completed projects may be taken out of the lab. That said, it seems like someone may have already been here, as there's blood smeared on one of the terminal's keyboards. Also, anyone taking a stroll by the fountain this morning may notice something floating in the water: a boy's severed foot. This post is for the first day as defined in the schedule. This post is for general mingling and CR buidling, and will not include significant plot interaction. ic rulebook character statuses character profiles private conversations graveyard |

[Some people might have trouble working up an appetite after the events of the day before. Not Alice - she's still hungry. Sure, the cafeteria food is unappetizing, but it was like that even before people started dying.
She spears a bit of soggy French toast sticks on a plastic fork and takes a bite. Yuck. Maybe for lunch she'll cook something, but that's too much effort this early in the morning.
For now, she'll observe anyone else who's coming in for breakfast.]
You sleep okay?
[Who would, in a place like this? But at least she's trying to make polite conversation...]
Tech Lab - Afternoon;
[And here she is in the tech lab... the blood on the terminal doesn't really bother her that much, and by now others are bound to have investigated it already, so she's just going to occupy herself with looking at the power tools, because of course she is.
She lingers by one of the circular saws, examining it carefully before she makes a face and mutters:]
...for some reason, just looking at this makes me really angry.

as for him, he's currently in the middle of trying to figure out how this chainsaw works through trial and error, yanking at it this way and that (the repercussions of which will catch up to him eventually), before he glances over in her direction. ]
How come?

Then she nods, apparently making up her mind.]
It reminds me of someone I don't like.

but then it stops, and he pauses to think. ]
I can't say that I know too many people who use saws on a daily basis. Carpenters and engineers, maybe, but I can't think of anyone else.
[ who Hurt her... then again, he can say the same of, say riding whips, since a preference for them seems to be pretty prevalent here. ]

A girl I knew had a weapon that looked sort of like that. She was so powerless even with a blade, though! ...ugh.
[She wrinkles her nose just thinking about it.]

I feel like any answer I give to that will lead me into a conversation I don't want to have. How did you sleep?
no subject
[In other words? Yeah. This isn't going to be a great conversation. Sorry, Rhys.]
I slept like a baby. ♡
Morning
Yesterday sure was exciting. I probably needed the rest.

[There's something about Hitsugi that sort of rubs Alice the wrong way... it's probably that she's cute. Alice can't stand competition.]
No bad dreams or anything?

[It... doesn't really sound like a nice thing when she says it. Even though she totally tried pulling the "girls get the bed" thing herself?? Oh well.]
So... when do you think the next dead body is going to show up?

[LOOKING BETWEEN HER AND THE SAW. For some reason he just figured she'd probably be delighted over anything that looked even remotely like it would cause mayhem...
Then again, he's not entirely sure about what these are, either. "A blade", obviously, but?? Why is it shaped like this, what's happening here.]
no subject
[BOOO. She'd honestly be down for chopping people up with it, otherwise.]
Have you found anything in this place that reminds you of people you know?
no subject
I can't say that I have, no... Though it might have something to do with the fact that very little here is familiar to me to begin with.

[other than... the blood, of course, but it seems that isn't what she's upset about.]

...but at least it's sharp. ♡

Is there something about how sharp it is that you find appealing?

It's hard to see, but he blinks when she speaks to him, glancing over in her direction. That seems to rouse him more than anything.]
I slept. I'm not sure I'd call it "okay".
[But he appreciates the effort, and he offers her a ghost of a smile.]

[She wouldn't be surprised if the more soft-hearted people here did have nightmares, after everything... but she wasn't really expecting Leo to get them, since he sort of was the first person to point the finger at Diva.
Surprises, surprises.]
Or do you just have trouble sleeping all the time?
no subject
[Not really an answer; in truth, nightmares aren't uncommon. But that's not something he'd bring up normally, and it isn't what's bothering him now.
Diva... Diva's situation definitely still weighs on his mind. But that's not what he's concerned about either.]
I'm not used to sleeping in so late. It feels unnatural.

cafeteria;
[the arrangements aren't exactly comfortable here.
(and maybe doubly so because he was just not feeling great about the previous night.)
either way, it doesn't seem to stop him from being able to eat, even if alvin's clearly not enthused by the circumstances or the meal itself.]
no subject
[Then again, people aren't so likely to give up a bed for Alvin, so he's shit out of luck there.]
I wonder what they're doing to make us all fall asleep like we have been. The last couple of nights have been the longest I've slept without waking up in ages. ♡

[he taps the monitor against the leg of the chair. he can't really deny that his sleep has been solid and sound, though not necessarily comfortable or good.]
That or there's really something in the air in this joint.

[Which is to say, it's not like she had a choice on whether she slept or not. Like the previous night, she ended up falling asleep hours after curfew. But regardless of that — she doesn't think she would have been able to actually rest with the current situation.
Oh, well.
Still gotta eat her meal, though. Physical needs come first.]
What about you? Were you able to sleep okay?
no subject
[In other words, it's a much more restful sleep than she's used to getting? Which is actually kind of sad, really.]
I'm used to being on the move. It's a little weird staying in one place for so long.
