day one
![]() Complex Population: 35 ( October 3 - October 6 ) It's 8AM, and you wake from that deep, dreamless sleep that enforces curfew as always. There's breakfast avaliable in the cafeteria if you want it, as well as meals from 11AM-12PM and 7PM-8PM, but otherwise? The day is yours. Take your time to explore the complex, relax, and enjoy each others' company, as who knows what the next day has in store? Though as you explore, you may notice that there's a new door unlocked and a new place for you to spend the day. One of the locked doors on the second floor is now open, so residents can partake in the clean, modest gym if you're the kind to keep in shape. This post is for the first day as defined in the schedule. This post is for general mingling and CR buidling, and will not include significant plot interaction. character statuses character profiles private conversations |

[He scratches at his chin, his brows furrowing.]
You don't think that removing them will have any consequences, do you? As in, we'll be punished in some way...I'm sure they have some safeguard in place for possible removal?

[Say, now that he's here...may as well ask it straight, because Alfendi's profile has a few details that got his attention]
Layton, do you work for the police?
no subject
[There's a noticeable pause, his eyes narrowing somewhat...but a look of genuine confusion crosses Alfendi's face.]
...No, I don't? Why?

[Dojima starts enumerating with his fingers]
Proficiency with firearms, skills in interrogation, deduction and observation...it's the basic skills for someone who works for the police, more concretely for a detective.
[It's Dojima's own deduction, but he isn't sure of it. But better to ask it directly instead of beating around the bush, that's what Dojima thinks]

[His confusion isn't going away - a detective? Logically, yes, a detective has those skills, but...it doesn't make sense. Something's not quite right here.]
[He scratches at his head, looking absolutely perplexed.]
I've never been a detective? I mean...I don't think so. [He knows how strange that sounds, and he grimaces slightly, shaking his head.] But being a detective wouldn't be something I would forget that easily. It's not like, forgetting where you left your keys...
no subject
Why do you think you forgot that? Is there anything that could hint you lost your memories?
no subject
[It's impossible! Nobody forgets a thing like that! He shakes his head, grimacing - he almost feels his head starting to ache.]
I don't think so? Everything seems normal as far as I'm concerned...well, except what Judy told me. You know, the housing contract she mentioned? I apparently signed it, but I don't remember it at all, and Judy said I might have memory problems. But I didn't believe her.

[Once is a coincidence, twice is a fluke, thrice is a pattern. Right now it's in 'fluke' level and to be honest, Dojima is hoping there won't be any more people with amnesia around.
Mainly because...then what if Dojima forgot something else too, something beyond whatever got him in this place?]
I assume that because I don't remember signing whatever document I heard Judy has. Either it's fake, she's lying, or I forgot something.

[He doesn't have a good argument for that. He tries to justify it, tries to remember where he learned things like how to fire a gun, but he can't. It's like a mental wall, and even though he can practically imagine the weight of the gun in his hands, the click of the bullets as he reloads it, the context of it all is just...not there.]
[He lets out a groan, placing a hand on his face in frustration.]
I thought she was lying. There was no way I could have ever moved to this place, but...now I don't know. [His voice is low, strained.] I don't know what to think anymore. This must all be some kind of mistake...
no subject
Everything we may or may not have forgotten shouldn't be our priority right now. Don't beat yourself too hard about it.
[There you go, but it's kind of ridiculous to tell someone to not to pay attention to the missing memories]

[What did they do?! Those...IDIOTS, those MORONS! He suddenly lowers his hand from his face and-]

You're right. Yes, yes, it's quite the pickle, but...there's no use crying over spilled milk. It's just another mystery to solve among many, and I'm sure it will be resolved eventually.
[He surprisingly bounced back easily from that little revelation.]

Well said. I can count with your help if there's anything we can do to get out of here, won't I?
[It'd be great to have someone with deduction skills to count on, but that may be because Dojima is used to working with a group of people. That's how police detectives work, in teams]
no subject
[He does sound sincere about that.]
I'm sure I can count on you to do the same as well? As the saying goes, two minds are better than one. I'd be happy to work together in any way possible and share any information that comes my way.
