day one

DAY 1
Complex Population: 35

( October 3 - October 6 )

It's 8AM, and you wake from that deep, dreamless sleep that enforces curfew as always.

There's breakfast avaliable in the cafeteria if you want it, as well as meals from 11AM-12PM and 7PM-8PM, but otherwise? The day is yours. Take your time to explore the complex, relax, and enjoy each others' company, as who knows what the next day has in store?

Though as you explore, you may notice that there's a new door unlocked and a new place for you to spend the day. One of the locked doors on the second floor is now open, so residents can partake in the clean, modest gym if you're the kind to keep in shape.

This post is for the first day as defined in the schedule. This post is for general mingling and CR buidling, and will not include significant plot interaction.

Are you some - uh.... handyman? [ She waves her hand vaguely. ] You don't peg me as the type.

It's one of my skills. I actually really enjoy it too - the wastelands I come from have a lot of old broken technology. There's always something out there to repair.

We sure lucked out then. With how much things have already broken... [ She shrugs a bit. ] Not really sure what the wastelands are, but I'll take your word for it and give you a holler if I break a heel.

The wastelands are... well everywhere. It's just the state of the world. I jut happen to live in a desert, so it was a wasteland before it became a nuclear one.

Okay, maybe not so lucky.

[ She sounds a bit unsure. ]

So none of this - is nothing like this familiar? Do they even have warm beds (or couches, I guess) where you're from?

Sure we have those things - they're just either extremely worn down at best, or completely busted at worse. Food is on short supply, and pretty much everything is irradiated to some level. It's kinda why I was saying this place could be worse.

[Because by Veronica's standards, the Complex looks really damn shiny and new.]

That explains it. [ Shes not particularly shocked, it's rare she can be nowadays. ] Even if it could be worse, we didn't choose to stay here or drop our lives to be locked away with no answers. I suppose I could understand how this can feel safe in retrospect.

It's not safe, just an illusion of safety. But I'll take that illusion over having no food or water. [Which would definitely make the situation dire.] If you don't mind me saying, you seem to have pretty strong views about it. Anything you might feel like sharing?

Who doesn't have strong views of being caged like some bird? [ When the girl presses her, she barely tenses up. It's another question - another obstacle. ] There's men where I'm from that see no harm in using luxury and "safety" as cages. It's hard not to look from the outside in and feel nothing but bitterness.
