DAY 10 (afternoon) Complex Population: 15 At noon, the same tone from the morning rings out, and Judy's voice filters out over the intercom. "Good afternoon, residents. As per Safety Protocol 6227-A, it is time to conduct a trial to bring justice for the victim. Please proceed to the courtroom on the first level." Just as at night, if you don't go to the courtroom, you'll be treated to an electric shock of increasing strength until you go to the courtroom or are unconscious. Though considering the ominous penalty for not participating in a trial, you should likely just go rather than risk not voting because you've been knocked out by your own stubbornness... Once you're in the courtroom, you'll find that bottled water and light snacks are provided, but otherwise you'll have to bring anything else you may need. As you come to your conclusions about who to vote for, you can step into the judgement theater to cast your vote at the terminal. You may change your vote as many times as you'd like, but at 7PM, your vote (or lack thereof) is locked in. [Okay Leo's been paying attention this whole time but he's too Ye Olde to get any of what's going on now, so.]

What does that mean...?

[For the first time during this trial, it seems Alfendi's poker face is slipping. He takes a moment to try to collect himself.]

They're inside the machines, the terminals. They're now just...literal ghosts in the machine. Ha! Ha, how ironic...

And from what's gathered, Judy is the machine, or a big part of it. So to vote for her would mean their true annihilation.]

But then... why would Rhys want to die before we did all this?

Fear for any repercussions, maybe. They're staff members. That implies there may be someone above them giving orders.

Don't take this supposition for granted, though.

...I suppose. He's enough of a coward to prefer death at our hands, I think.

I suppose he feels guilty enough and thinks living out forever in a machine is a suitable fate for him. I don't know how that man thinks. He's out of his mind.

Forever wouldn't be very long, though, if we enacted his plan to take Judy out immediately. He'd be destroyed like Elizabeth and the others, wouldn't he?

It's possible that he's just suicidal. He chose his way to go.
