trial #4
![]() Complex Population: 19 At noon, the same tone from the morning rings out, and Judy's voice filters out over the intercom. "Good afternoon, residents. As per Safety Protocol 6227-A, it is time to conduct a trial to bring justice for the victim. Please proceed to the courtroom on the first level." Just as at night, if you don't go to the courtroom, you'll be treated to an electric shock of increasing strength until you go to the courtroom or are unconscious. Though considering the ominous penalty for not participating in a trial, you should likely just go rather than risk not voting because you've been knocked out by your own stubbornness... Once you're in the courtroom, you'll find that bottled water and light snacks are provided, but otherwise you'll have to bring anything else you may need. As you come to your conclusions about who to vote for, you can step into the judgement theater to cast your vote at the terminal. You may change your vote as many times as you'd like, but at 7PM, your vote (or lack thereof) is locked in. You have until 7PM to discuss and vote for who you think the murderer is. ic rulebook character statuses character profiles Voting will close at 9PM EST on 10/29. voting |

No. I can't do that. I mean, I can like... I have the skill but I can't, it'd ruin, uh. Stuff. And I -- well, I already talked to Judy about what's going to happen in that room. I promise I can answer things when I'm in there.
no subject
She already turned on you once by letting people hack in to see what you asked for in the commissary.
no subject
No, she didn't turn on me. She was just doing what she had to, I'm not mad at Judy for that. If you ask her something, she'll tell you it. You just have to ask her. I forgot to ask her if someone already knew what I requested, that was my fault. When it comes to Judy, you just -- you just have to know how to talk to her.
So, no. I'm not removing Angel's collar. I know what I'm doing, Alice.

[maybe don't insult people you're trying to negotiate with, Alice]
If you know how to talk to Judy, then teach the rest of us to do so before we send you off.

slides in
[ That boils her blood beyond any suicidal bullshit he's said. ]
So you drag an innocent girl in for - what? What reason? You're keeping us prisoner and now, she's bound to you in some piss-poor attempt to take down another person.
[ Elizabeth finally stands up, leaning forward a bit and Rhys and anyone else in the room can see Elizabeth slide a pipe pistol up and aim it directly at Rhys. She doesn't shoot, but she has enough skill to not miss if needed. ]
I'm sick and tired of sickos like you using girls as property. Take it off of her!

If he just listened to me... god.
[ but instead he waves a hand vaguely and just like with ookurikara, rhys is going to make a request. ]
Judy, shock her if she gets close to me. Shock her again if she attempts to shoot that thing. Also, give Jack a shock for being an idiot enough to give her the gun. Fuckin' knew he did that, idiot. You guys are not derailing this trial, holy shit.
[ he just wanted ONE THING. why is everyone being a butt about it. ]
And the collar wasn't my idea! Again! I made it for you actually but then someone [ he sounds so bitter here ] said to put it on me and Angel instead. I didn't want to do anything to Angel, let alone be attached to her.

[ Judy is tired of all you hooligans, gosh! For anyone that tries to get near Rhys, they'll get a sharp shock. Elizabeth and Jack will both get one immediately, and Elizabeth won't be able to shoot that gun without a debilitating shock as soon as she raises the pistol. ]
no subject
"Become" you say. Told you I was unpopular days ago, we like -- we called this. I think it's just gotten worse. It's probably just gotten worse, right? Oh my god.
[ why is judy the only real bro here ]

You derailed enough, puke for brains, let - [ The shock sends her stumbling back to her seat and the gun falling onto the table. Elizabeth is left panting and wincing in pain. ] - Go... go to hell. I hope you end up there alone.
[ There's venom in her words and she's trying to piece together everything. 'He'? She'll worry about that later and all she wants now is to see Rhys suffer. When she looks at Rhys, she thinks of her tower. She thinks of how her entire existence was denied and now... he and these scientists are attempting to do the same.
Elizabeth grits her teeth when he admits it was suppose to be her. ]
Sorry, clashes with... with the outfit. But, blood probably looks good on yours.
[ With that, another shock courses through her system as she raises the gun. Elizabeth cries out in a sob and falls to the floor but - uh.. lmao have fun Angel because that gun was getting tossed right towards you. ]
no subject
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Look -- the, the banter thing? I'm not really into it right now so, uh, rain check? On whatever it is you just said. She threatened me, right, Judy? There was like, a clever quip or something.
[ a shake of his head. ]
Oh, whatever. I don't care.
no subject
... I'm sure it's unnecessary to repeat this, but making excuses for yourself does little to change the facts. [Just. Looking at the gun. Testing the safety. She remembers how much her hands shook when she killed Adam, but this is different. This has a purpose.] Unfortunately — I don't believe you can ask Judy to give me the same treatment, unless you want to shocked as well.
[And in one quick movement, she is taking a scalpel out and stabbing herself in the thigh with it. It's painful as hell, but she keeps her eyes focused on Rhys.]
Tell Judy to stop, or else the next injury will be a bullet through my head. I believe that would irreversibly derail the trial, wouldn't it?

someone stabbing themselves to hurt someone else should not impress her this much ]

You -- you remember that I made these, right? What if I just, ugh, what if I just turn off the feedback loop?
[ he grins a little, shaky, but he doesn't feel good about doing this. ]
I mean, I wouldn't be stupid enough n-not to put in a failsafe, right? Come on. Jack's the programmer but I'm the engineer.
[ and then he pauses, slightly and grimaces. ]
Also, I can, uh. I can get a first aid kit for you if you want to patch that up? I mean, that was kind of stupid.
no subject
She simply chooses to slide the scalpel over her upper arm, staring at him.]
No need to fetch a first aid kit, Rhys. It'll be a waste to use supplies on someone who will be dead soon, after all.
[Another slice, this one while she cocks an eyebrow.]
If you're able to turn off the feedback loop — go ahead. I'm waiting.

he'll just lift a hand to his collar and slide his fingers underneath it until he finds a certain button. then he clicks it.
the shocks stop. ]
Seriously, come on. Can we get back to the trial already?
no subject
Yes, I believe we can.
[YOU FUCKER.]

Why is everyone such a dick, oh my god.
[ you shot his TOE and his EXPENSIVE SHOE and now there is blood and it's a whole thing. why is everyone so mean to him!!! ]
