DAY EIGHT (morning)
![]() Complex Population: 19 It's 8AM, and you wake from that deep, dreamless sleep that enforces curfew as always. Of course, some of you might be waking up due to a rather alarming reason. NOTE: This day post will be run slightly differently because of the large amount of things to be discovered. Please indicate where your character is in the subject line of your toplevel, and a mod will reply to conduct the investigation. Please note that some areas may be dangerous, and your characters may be injured, but characters will not be killed (unless you want them to be). He wakes up blearily at first and rubs at his face as he sits up, but slowly, he realizes something is amiss. He looks up, squinting towards the kitchen, because is that— ]
What the fuck—
[ Oh, whoops, he let a curse slip, but he feels it's pretty fair. Jack is awake pretty quickly once he realizes what he's smelling is smoke. He scrambles up quickly and runs into the kitchenette to quickly scramble through the cabinets to look for a bowl or something to put water in. ]
Hey, Hey, assholes, wake up! We've got a situation here!

[at least the combination of the yelling, the heat from the fire, and the pain in his back isn't keeping alvin asleep.
and yet despite all that, even though a cough from the smoke, he quips.]
More of a sabotage than a situation, if you ask me! What the hell happened last night? [he's coming (or, well, groggily stumbling) to help, though he's a bit hindered by the fresh stab wound right next to his right shoulder blade.
it's fine, this is fine!]

[ Jack is filling up a bowl as quickly as he can, though while doing so, he's definitely just trying to stomp out the fire, because, you know, maybe that'll help. He looks to Alvin as he approaches with a look of mild panic, though a spot of red catches his eye. ]
Woah- Woah, uh, you're bleeding?
no subject
[he can't exactly see it, he just knows it hurts like hell. he's a trooper, though.]
It won't kill me, let's get the fire out first and figure out the rest later! [with the kitchen space pretty small, it's not like they can do too much, so he'll grab one of his scarves and a pair of boots.
he can at least try to stomp it out a bit himself, though it probably won't do too much.]

Jesus— This- Christ, we haven't even left the damn room yet and this is already a lot!
[ The bowl is full, so Jack quickly grabs it, and there's not much warning before he pours it on the blanket. It gets a lot of the fire, but he starts filling up another bowl anyways. They'll probably be able to stomp out the rest. ]

they're thankfully pretty lucky that it's not a lot worse, even if the smoke is definitely still lingering in the air.]
Talk about a crappy way to start the day. Where the hell are we even supposed to start with this one? [his eyes are glancing over smoldering remains of what burned.] Stabbing people wasn't enough, so burn the place to the ground?
no subject
Uhh- Apparently so, Jesus. This is- This is kinda a step up, and that's super bad in this case.

[there are a couple of things to note, both of which might? be more important than what alvin's about to ask. but he's turning his back to jack for a moment.]
How bad's it look? Because I'll tell you, it feels like crap. [what kind of asshole takes a cheap shot like this when someone is sleeping and doesn't even finish the job? though alvin doesn't even actually know it's a stab wound, or how deep it is—though obviously it's not so bad that he's going to keep over. he's got his wits about him, at least.]

[ Jack gives the sink a glance, but shakes his head as he looks back to Alvin. He steps closer and places a hand carefully on Alvin's back to try and wipe away some of the blood to get a better look at it. Luckily, he's not squeamish. ]

all in all, not nearly as bad as it could have been. while jack's looking at it, he'll muse on the other important topic here.]
We're down another person for sure this time. [jade was already missing, and now danse is too. cool... that's cool.]

oh, his shirt is covered in blood.
he doesn't even look at the fire yet, just letting out a uhhhh as he slowly lifts the front of his shirt to reveal a really long, still bleeding slash across his stomach. ow.
he lets out a whimper of pain then, biting into his lip and trying not to panic, especially when he feels something on his throat. when he lifts his hand upwards, there's a collar around his neck. two for one, score! ]
... J-Jack.
no subject
What- Uhhh, this isn't funny Rhys, what's with the new jewelr- Ow, fuck!
[ He'd been so surprised that he'd kind of stopped tending to the fire, so he gets interrupted by the fire getting a little too warm near his neck. He takes a few quick steps back, then returns to the water plan. ]
Ahhh, god dammit, just- Just hang on a sec!

bzzt.
his newfangled collar seems to buzz then with an electric shock, which gets his heart beating faster and he lets out a swear as his other hand goes to tug at it. ]
I have to -- I have to go see why... [ another buzz and he jumps, stumbling towards the door. ] Jack, be careful. Please.
[ and then out he's going to leave alvin and jack to deal with the fire because LOOK... HE KNOWS HE'LL JUST FUCK IT UP. ]
no subject
Woah, Rhys, buddy, you should—
[ Jack starts to call out to him to ask him to stay instead, but again, the fire takes priority. Rhys stumbles out, and Jack curses loudly, since this is already turning into a stressful morning. He'll go after Rhys first thing once this is out, just to make sure the guy doesn't bleed out or whatever. ]
