DAY SEVEN
![]() Complex Population: ??? It's 8AM, and you wake from that deep, dreamless sleep that enforces curfew as always. There's breakfast available in the cafeteria if you want it, as well as meals from 11AM-12PM and 7PM-8PM, but otherwise? The day is yours. Take your time to explore the complex, relax, and enjoy each others' company, as who knows what the next day has in store? Though as you explore, you may notice that there's a new door unlocked and a new place for you to spend the day. For the more bookish residents, you'll now find a quaint little library open to be perused. Interestingly, none of the books have publishing dates, but for those of you that may know when the more famous books were published, you won't find anything past 1940. Also, anyone taking a stroll by the fountain this morning may notice that once again it's been subject to... something. The water is a darker red today. This post is for the first day as defined in the schedule. This post is for general mingling and CR buidling, and will not include significant plot interaction. ic rulebook character statuses character profiles private conversations graveyard |

[Well, would you look at that! It's a library, and a chance to find something. That's why Dojima is going along the aisles, paying attention to every single book. He seems rather focused on what he's doing.
It's possible that he may not even see you until he bumps into you. Sorry for that]
Evening - Bar
[That last trial was a complete nightmare. Not only the person Dojima thought was going to die...died, it was also shown Adam had killed her out of revenge. All Dojima can think is that he should have seen it coming, but Adam had seemed a bit calmer the day before Franziska's death, so...
But yeah, he's drowning his sorrows right now and getting drunk. Someone has been grumpy all day, it's him]
It wasn't enough to have a group of people conshpiring to kill others. Now everyone else may want to kill each other, too. Trig-Trigger-happy bashtards...
[Fuck this place]
bar!
Wow, are you drunk already? ♡
no subject
...I may be.
[You totally are, Dojima]
Don't act as if it's shtrange...anyone would get drunk if they had to deal with this place.
[Thankfully he's just frustrated due to everything that happened with Adam and with Leo's foot cutting, which you had a hand onto, Alice! So this is kinda your fault too, way to go]
no subject
Are you sure that's a good idea?
[A beat, and then - ]
We didn't have a trial today. If the pattern from the last couple of times holds, doesn't that mean someone's going to die tonight? You don't want to have a headache during the trial, do you?
no subject
[He scowls and empties his glass]
It wouldn't be the first time I have to work while having a headache. I have-I'm used to it. Being a detective means having headaches aaaaaall the time.
[A very stressful job, that's for sure]
no subject
It does sound like he has a stressful job, but - has he ever had to do his job in a situation like this? She would venture to say that he hasn't.]
Aren't you going to feel guilty, though? If you're in no condition to help figure things out, and a staff member doesn't get caught again...
no subject
[Well, at least it doesn't seem he's going to ask for more drinks. He had enough, apparently]
What makes you so shure whatever killer we catch will be a staff member? Who says it won't be another Parrish? If the staff can use someone else's...someone else's whatever reason they could have to kill other people we'll all be running around in circles, just like they want.
[Now that he stopped drinking he's starting to regret having indulged in the bar. He actually feels kinda embarrassed being seen in this state]
Unless we miss and shomehow get lucky, but what are the odds?
[So sorry you have to see him like this, Alice. This doesn't happen often, serously]
1/2
[She's not wrong, but she should not be saying that with a smile.]
2/2
See, this is what bothers me most... so many of you are so short-sighted! Who cares if it's somebody else going and killing people on their own? Our enemies here are the staff members.
[She huffs.]
They're the people responsible for us being here, aren't they? They're the ones who can order Judy around, aren't they? If we kill them all, then there's no point in keeping any of us here. And there's nothing stopping Judy from letting us go at that point.
I think catching the people who are responsible for this mess is more important than catching the killers, if we have situations like the last trial's again.
no subject
[...Dojima, by now you should know what Alice's general personality and thoughts are like.
But she's right. Staff members should kinda be priority, although Dojima really would prefer there to be some other solution than executions]
People are dropping dead like flies. Look at how thish ish going: another two went missing and are likely dead by now. How worse will this get before we catch another staff employee again.
[Don't go missing, Alice, or things are going to get real bad in this place]
no subject
[It's her priority, certainly. She wants to get out alive, and dismantling whatever this whole operation is supposed to be from the inside out is the fastest way she can think of to do it.]
Say somebody else who's not a staff member does kill, for whatever their reasons are. They can't do it at night unless the staff members let them, right? [She shrugs.] And even if we catch them, that's still going to leave the staff members out there. They killed Charles and Rayfa. If somebody doesn't take matters into their own hands like Adam did, they'll probably do more killing on their own.
But if we catch all of them and put an end to this, that'll put an end to whatever might be driving people who aren't staff to kill, too. Or at least it will give us a chance to get out of here and get away from anyone who's still out for blood. ♡
1/2
[Well done, Alice. That said...]
2/2
It doesn't make sense, I jusht...I jusht want to understand why this is happening.
[Dojima tiredly leans against the wall]
no subject
[Alice, for example, would not be above taking it slow in the execution chamber in an attempt to get people to talk.]
Or maybe Judy will tell us once the staff members can't punish her for it anymore.
[Then she raises an eyebrow as he leans against the wall.]
...hey, don't rest there. You'll fall over. [SIGHS] Are you even going to be able to walk back to your room like this?
no subject
[And it isn't like he's going to get killed along the way. The staff members seem to be playing according to their own rules, so he should be fine. Not that he's in a hurry to return, there's still some time before the curfew]
When you say 'interrogate' you don't mean 'torture', do you?
no subject
[So why did she ask? It is a mystery... Alice only manages to be nice in very short bursts. Gee, how strange.]
If talking to them works, I could just ask them, but if they won't answer then I'll just have to do whatever's necessary.
no subject
Way too many people in this place are into torture.
[By now he's sure trying to convince people not to torture each other - or cut feet off, like SOME PEOPLE did before - is an useless endeavor]
no subject
[True chaotic neutral logic.]
It's all well and good to talk about not hurting people, but when those same people turn around and hurt you instead, then...

(no subject)
bar;
Isn't it a little early to throw in the towel and get sloshed? [spoken as if he didn't more or less do the same thing the night before. but it seems like a bad idea to open up any more vulnerabilities when more people are dead or missing at thing point.]
no subject
[Hey there, Alvin, do you want a drink too?]
Anyone would need booze after dealing with everything that has happened.
no subject
I won't argue that. There's probably not enough liquor in this place to settle how everything is. Just try not to make yourself an easy target... someone might take advantage if you get yourself too plastered.
[some friendly advice? dojima's a smart guy, but without things are in the complex, it's not like people need much motivation.]
no subject
He chuckles a bit too forcefully]
I'm not going to fall down so eashily. Even if the staff targets me I can guarantee I won't give them an easy fight.
[He does look rather sure about that, at least]
no subject
I'd say they have to be pretty weak to target a drunk, middle-aged man... [is he teasing? he's probably teasing.]
I think we've learned our lesson that they'll go after the easiest targets they think they've got.
no subject
Sure, he had a leg very wounded and it put him at disadvantage, but he was sure he'd still defend himself well enough.
The part about the easier target did make him return to his usual seriousness, though]
There are six kids left among us. One of them surely will be targeted. I hope there's shomeone watching over them, so nothing happens--to them.
[He can take care of Leo, mostly, but the rest will need their own protectors]
no subject
[not that he wouldn't when he's not in the room is the implication, even if they're words he doesn't actually speak aloud as he takes a sip from the glass.]
Makes you wonder who's gonna be next... and who'll be the next one to get fingers point at them, too. [he laughs, sardonic and a little bitter about that.]
