trial #3

DAY 6 (afternoon)
Complex Population: 27

At noon, the same tone from the morning rings out, and Judy's voice filters out over the intercom.

"Good afternoon, residents. As per Safety Protocol 6227-A, it is time to conduct a trial to bring justice for the victim. Please proceed to the courtroom on the first level."

Just as at night, if you don't go to the courtroom, you'll be treated to an electric shock of increasing strength until you go to the courtroom or are unconscious. Though considering the ominous penalty for not participating in a trial, you should likely just go rather than risk not voting because you've been knocked out by your own stubbornness... Once you're in the courtroom, you'll find that bottled water and light snacks are provided, but otherwise you'll have to bring anything else you may need.

As you come to your conclusions about who to vote for, you can step into the judgement theater to cast your vote at the terminal. You may change your vote as many times as you'd like, but at 7PM, your vote (or lack thereof) is locked in.

You have until 7PM to discuss and vote for who you think the murderer is.

alittlemaster: (Boy I was shaped for the fury.)

I'm right here.

I told you Charles was asleep in the bed, and if anyone is suspicious about it being stolen, you can just tell them what you told me.

If anyone has been suspicious, it's you and Shijima. Neither of you have had any qualms about killing, and neither of you seem affected by all of these deaths, and both of you agree. You could easily be staff working together.
selfsufficiency: (of the continent you little shit)

[personal profile] selfsufficiency 2016-10-23 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
Well, yeah. ♡ It's only fair if I say it where you can hear it, so you get a chance to defend yourself.

[Alice looks supremely unbothered, which kind of proves Ciel's point, huh.]

Shijima only agrees with me because I made a trade with her, and that's never been a secret. I mean, you can believe whatever you want, but I'm not a staff member and neither is she. If we were, we'd know better than to be so obvious about it, you know?

But you... you've been trying really hard not to be too conspicuous or too inconspicuous.
alittlemaster: <user name=mewtube site=livejournal.com> (of the human race's vice.)

[personal profile] alittlemaster 2016-10-23 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
That's ridiculous. I'm not an idiot. If you listen and watch instead of being chatty, you can learn a lot.

None of my actions or reasonings have been suspicious. I never blamed anyone for a crime, and I abstained both trials. I am only supplying options that may help us find staff members.

You seem to be eager to blame me without solid evidence of anything. What are you trying to hide?
selfsufficiency: (i will wipe you the fuck out)

[personal profile] selfsufficiency 2016-10-23 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
I don't have anything to hide at all, Cici. I'm an open book. ♡

[She shrugs.]

If I'm wrong, then I fully expect people to turn on me. But the way you've acted so far makes me suspicious, so it can't be helped. There's no point in keeping quiet about my suspicions now when there's a very real chance you might be a staff member.
selfdenying: (you're in then you're out)

[personal profile] selfdenying 2016-10-23 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
He's the perfect little participant, isn't he, Alice?

[+1 supporter here]

But Alice and Shijima are - [flip flip go the pages of the notebook] - too obvious. Plus, both showed genuine concern for Bigby when he was wounded, and unless all three of them are staff members, which I think is highly unlikely, they would have no reason to try to take care of someone who they're actively going against.
selfsufficiency: (this tea needs more vodka)

[personal profile] selfsufficiency 2016-10-23 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
[She deadeyes the notebook.]

I know you're trying to help, but that kind of makes me mad. If the other you comes back, can I hit him for writing that?

[SIGH, the problems with liking one split personality and only semi-liking the other.]

...but you're right. He's almost too perfect which is why it seems weird to me.
selfdenying: (we fight we make up)

[personal profile] selfdenying 2016-10-23 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
...Honestly, you have full permission to, even if he's supposedly sharing my body.

[He doesn't seem that impressed with the notebook either - who wrote all of this, a stuffy old man?]

Well, we don't have any other evidence for that, do we? Maybe he really is just that boring.
selfsufficiency: (maggot)

[personal profile] selfsufficiency 2016-10-23 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
[THIS IS WHY RUDE ALFENDI IS HER FAVORITE.]

That's possible, too. There's a lot of things that are possible.

We just have to figure out which ones are probable.
selfdenying: (you're in then you're out)

[personal profile] selfdenying 2016-10-23 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
[THEY HAVE A PARTNERSHIP IN BULLYING THE HECK OUT OF HIS ALTERNATE PERSONALITY]

Exactly, Alice. We have a few probable choices - that loverboy, Alvin, and little perfect pirate boy over here. Looks like it might be one of those three.
selfsufficiency: (in gorilla warfare and i'm the top)

[personal profile] selfsufficiency 2016-10-23 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
I think it's Cici. ♡ I sort of hope I'm wrong because he's an interesting person, but if he is staff, then he needs to suffer.
alittlemaster: commissioned from <user name=copyking>! (the wolf's in your bed.)

[personal profile] alittlemaster 2016-10-23 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
You all are idiots. Tbey have plenty of reason to help someone they plan to kill anyway. That is the point.

You wouldn't suspect them if they seemed caring and concerned.
selfdenying: (you're in then you're out)

[personal profile] selfdenying 2016-10-23 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
So what is it? Trust those who are too obvious, or trust those who aren't obvious at all? Make up your mind, moron.
alittlemaster: <user name=copyking> (aw man silly me)

[personal profile] alittlemaster 2016-10-23 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
You can't know is the problem I am arguing, but I never said you should trust the people who aren't obvious. All of my assumptions have been based on what I have seen an heard--the people who are the most obvious.

selfdenying: (we fight we make up)

[personal profile] selfdenying 2016-10-23 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, but you're one of the people who aren't obvious, no? It would work out for you to point fingers at the so-called obvious ones.

[He laughs, giving a shrug.] But we'll see. At this point, either or could be a staff member. Let's see if they can keep up appearances as best they can.
alittlemaster: (it makes me mad when people say)

[personal profile] alittlemaster 2016-10-23 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
The longer you leave them alive, the more people they can kill. Just remember that.
tearable: (pic#10637934)

[personal profile] tearable 2016-10-23 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
That's a little odd, don't you think? Those two are joined at the hip both in public and I'm assuming in the privacy of their apartment.

[ Elizabeth isn't accusing but: ]

While Shijima has gotten derailed over silly names, she has helped me and others multiple times. Alice has also been willing to put her credibility on the line by throwing theories out and pressing harder issues. If they were staff... [ She says cautiously. ] I don't think they would be seen in public together.
alittlemaster: <user name=mewtube site=livejournal.com> (††)

[personal profile] alittlemaster 2016-10-23 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
That could be what they want you to think. Of course you wouldn't believe staff to be together so closely, so their plan would work.

I think it's suspicious. Luke and Adam were together, and it turned out Luke had been a staff member.
tearable: (pic#10637936)

[personal profile] tearable 2016-10-23 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
So you're suggesting we vote Adam on a hunch based on reverse psychology?
Edited (holy shit let me english properly) 2016-10-23 01:46 (UTC)
alittlemaster: <user name=mewtube site=livejournal.com> (It's like a cold hand on my shoulder.)

[personal profile] alittlemaster 2016-10-23 01:50 am (UTC)(link)
Who you vote for is your business. I'm not going to make people's decisions for them. I'm only arguing the ridiculous accusation from Alice.
tearable: (pic#10637918)

[personal profile] tearable 2016-10-23 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
No, by all means, mister, if this is your defense, I want you to expand upon it. If it's not you, which I don't believe, we need to hear what your views are. Veronica spoke about transparency in communication. If you don't, you'll bring doubt to yourself.

[ Cautionary: ]

It's best to be careful, right?
alittlemaster: <user name=copyking> (I gotta bury 'em deep.)

[personal profile] alittlemaster 2016-10-23 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
People are innocent until proven guilty.

[He crosses his arms.] I'm voting for Adam because he seems the likely culprit for Franziska's murder.

I don't feel a revenge kill is unreasonable, especially if the staff can be blamed for it.
becauseimacoward: (24)

[personal profile] becauseimacoward 2016-10-23 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
I agree it's possible von Karma was targeted because the staff wanted revenge, but that doesn't mean Parrish is guilty.

Any staff member would have wanted her dead as retaliation for starting what led to Castellan's death
alittlemaster: (that bitch a trilogy.)

[personal profile] alittlemaster 2016-10-23 02:04 am (UTC)(link)
Astute. Now if you would be so kind to tell us who the staff is?

I didn't think so. Adam is all we have in a unfair trial that isn't going to ever have any clear answers.
