DAY 6 (afternoon) Complex Population: 27 At noon, the same tone from the morning rings out, and Judy's voice filters out over the intercom. "Good afternoon, residents. As per Safety Protocol 6227-A, it is time to conduct a trial to bring justice for the victim. Please proceed to the courtroom on the first level." Just as at night, if you don't go to the courtroom, you'll be treated to an electric shock of increasing strength until you go to the courtroom or are unconscious. Though considering the ominous penalty for not participating in a trial, you should likely just go rather than risk not voting because you've been knocked out by your own stubbornness... Once you're in the courtroom, you'll find that bottled water and light snacks are provided, but otherwise you'll have to bring anything else you may need. As you come to your conclusions about who to vote for, you can step into the judgement theater to cast your vote at the terminal. You may change your vote as many times as you'd like, but at 7PM, your vote (or lack thereof) is locked in. [Hey, sorry you two, but you're starting to get distracting]

This is not the time to argue about Parrish and Castellan's...whatever they had going on.

Focus on the actual case.

[Well, Dojima can't deny there are reasons to suspect Adam, but he currently doesn't think Adam is a staff member, which is why he's trying to divert the attention away.

Not that he's expecting it to work. Alfendi seems the kind to keep pressing on no matter what]

This is the case. We need to find a person we suspect of being staff before the end of the trial. Or do you suggest we just do whatever as we have the past two times?

I'm sorry...Dojima, was it? [He grins over at him, clicking his tongue.]

This brat is going to get us all killed, with his attitude. Even if he isn't staff, he's the one being distracting from the real issues.

Also, don't you think it's strange that Franziska was the one who died after she narrowed down her list to include Luke?

In all fairness, you can cast your suspicion at me as well.

[ She may not be able to look at Adam right now but - ]

I was the one who threatened to kill her.

[ She gives this evil Alfendi a Look. ]

If you're going to make these accusations, be certain your logic is sound.

[ She's neither for or against this logic, but she wants to make sure no one else gets wrapped up into it - look what happened with Lara. ]

[He just chuckles - is this all a game to him? Who knows.]

I operate on nothing but logic. Elizabeth, right? I don't have time for people who try to use emotions to obscure the truth. [A beat.] But don't worry, I'm hardly accusing him yet.

[tearable]

Right. Elizabeth.

[ She's lifting one finger up, trying to reel him in to focus on her. To command his attention. ]

If you're going to do so, be certain it sticks. Forget emotions, I do not believe Adam is gearing up as such. The trail you're sniffing down can implicate both me and Bigby. Luke and Lara had their problems with the woman but now they're dead. Adam, Bigby, and myself all pool into that bitterness with Franziska.

[ She's calm, not showing any fangs yet. ]

Let's avoid trying to get innocents killed unless the theory is sound, is all I'm implying.

[Well, that gets him to shut up, at least. He looks like he doesn't want to, but he glances to the notebook and then back to her, finally letting out a frustrated sigh.]

Fine, then. [A pause.] Besides, it could be a red herring. We'll all jump on Adam while the rest of the staff hide like the cowards they are. I don't want to play into their damn hands.

[tearable]

I'm not saying we should ignore Adam. His trauma with losing Luke, especially. I don't like the idea that Luke and Adam had come together so quickly, but that's not my place and this isn't page six of a gossip magazine.

[ Narrows eyes. ]

Save face now and pursue it later. Franziska's death right after Adam loses Luke? Seems a bit damning to the boy. The question should be: does anyone not like Adam - enough to frame him?

[ Or, it could be staff. ]

I don't deny that. [Dojima glances at Adam for a moment. Really, buddy, he understands you're still dealing with Luke's death, but you need to start caring] But you're not going to convince him to care more by tearing him apart. This is not the time to talk about it.

[That said...]

It's no surprise. I myself thought von Karma was likely to be the next person to die, if only because the staff would have wanted revenge towards the person who got one of their own under the spotlight like that.

[Said rather prudently, in case Alfendi is going to try to create some logic based on that. If the staff was acting out of a desire to avenge Luke, then Franziska actually being one of those six must have been one fun bonus]
