trial #3

DAY 6 (afternoon)
Complex Population: 27

At noon, the same tone from the morning rings out, and Judy's voice filters out over the intercom.

"Good afternoon, residents. As per Safety Protocol 6227-A, it is time to conduct a trial to bring justice for the victim. Please proceed to the courtroom on the first level."

Just as at night, if you don't go to the courtroom, you'll be treated to an electric shock of increasing strength until you go to the courtroom or are unconscious. Though considering the ominous penalty for not participating in a trial, you should likely just go rather than risk not voting because you've been knocked out by your own stubbornness... Once you're in the courtroom, you'll find that bottled water and light snacks are provided, but otherwise you'll have to bring anything else you may need.

As you come to your conclusions about who to vote for, you can step into the judgement theater to cast your vote at the terminal. You may change your vote as many times as you'd like, but at 7PM, your vote (or lack thereof) is locked in.

You have until 7PM to discuss and vote for who you think the murderer is.

That would be preferable to what was decided last night.

[ yeah but shijima. agrees. mostly because if you must play a stupid murder game play to win you idiots! ]

If the monitors could be used in any way against them, I can see why they would take every precaution to remove them when they made a kill. It's only logical.

But it seems suspicious that Franziska was killed as others had been in the same room, yet her foot was not removed. I think someone else may have done it.

Besides the staff, who also didn't like Franziska?

And you're assuming a lot about what you don't know. You're just making yourself look stupid here.

It's fine, miss. It's just - Bigby's right. It could serve as a proper motive...

[ THEY WILL TALK ABOUT IT, but Elizabeth is okay being vague for now. ]

It's obvious these roles are having more information than us - something that is giving them advantage and confidence to move. Whomever chose Kei for a reason.
liven: (REMARK ► it's opinion time.)

[personal profile] liven 2016-10-22 06:31 pm (UTC)(link)
At least we now know how Kei got his weaponry and ability, and "why". However, what we need this time is a vote that catches one of the people consistently killing. I somehow don't think much for our unity. Franziska barely got us through the last incident.
alittlemaster: <user name=mewtube site=livejournal.com> (Terrified of what's inside)

I voted to abstain despite the consequences.

Rather, you're making yourself look distraught and childish while the rest of us point out Luke Castellan was a murderer. That is a fact, whatever you think of the details. But given that you are, in all liklihood, also a member of that group, your distress is duly noted.
onepunchgirl: (I'm so blue)

[personal profile] onepunchgirl 2016-10-22 06:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I understand your concerns. However my belief is that it's easier to understand people's intentions, good or bad, through communication. Understand? Staff members will engage if they want to sway the conversation toward what they desire.

[personal profile] antietam 2016-10-22 06:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Luke didn't murder anyone until he was forced to and guess what? I'm not with him anymore, so thanks for that.
tearable: (pic#10637936)

[personal profile] tearable 2016-10-22 06:34 pm (UTC)(link)
The better question was who did?

[ No, this was not the time. But, Elizabeth muses to herself. ]

People had problems with her treatment of the results - Bigby and myself certainly had our issues with her. Possibly Adam since Luke was - ... well, you know.

[ But, she didn't see Adam confront the woman. ]

Why do you believe someone else had done this? Two murder attempts and neither of them are staff? I don't feel like that's likely.

[She smiles.]

I've never been one for caution. Nothing is gained without risk, and I don't fear death. Not even here.

[personal profile] antietam 2016-10-22 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
It was self-defense. How many people here are letting Bigby off for killing someone for the same reason?

Luke didn't want to do it but what would you do in that situation? Where only one of you can get out alive? I'd never blame him for something like that.

[personal profile] antietam 2016-10-22 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't care what you say about me, but stop talking about Luke.
liven: (EXPLAIN ► here we go bro.)

[personal profile] liven 2016-10-22 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
My vote was the same as Alice's. Our end vote was not for Luke, though it was at one point in time.
liven: plz don't take this one (DEADPAN ► and then he died.)

[personal profile] liven 2016-10-22 06:37 pm (UTC)(link)
You're asking us to pretend that the past week or so never occurred simply because you wish to rewrite history to make a killer out to be a saint. He may not have been a devil, but it's stupid to pretend he didn't kill. He did. We saw him do it. We also know he did not help any of us and was working against us.

If you don't wish to hear facts said, by all means slap your hands over your ears and sing at the top of your lungs. But don't bother people who are actually discussing the facts.

Maybe she overestimated herself? We have no idea what benefits this woman had being part part of the medical team. [ Since this was definitely revealed. ] I warned her - but there's nothing anyone can do when we're passed out to our knowledge.

[ She sounds sad: ]

It was a waste and I can only hope she went quickly.
selfdenying: (then you're cold)

[personal profile] selfdenying 2016-10-22 06:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Based on this quote, you already considered staff members murderers, and now, suddenly, Luke is an exception? Was he the lost little lamb in the midst of wolves?

[He feels a wave of nausea and he shakes his head - this is all idiotic. It really is.]

Of course, I know you're going to say "he was innocent"! Which is true. But this is hardly your hill to die on, moron. I almost suspect you don't even care if the rest of us die. If you're so hung up on the past and have little concern for what happens to us in the future, how do you think it makes you look, hm?
grimdeity: (NEUTRAL 🌹 on bright red)

[personal profile] grimdeity 2016-10-22 06:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Different circumstances, completely. Or are you suggesting Lara specifically aimed to get Luke in the gladiator chamber with her so as to have a go at him?

While the votes are also responsible for what happened in that situation, I wouldn't say he is blameless, either. What would I do? Perhaps the same. Does not change that he actually did it, however. Knowingly, and with the intent to escape the-- however twisted and disgusting-- punishment for being staff.
antietam: (pic#10332796)

[personal profile] antietam 2016-10-22 06:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Or maybe with new information that was presented to us, the fact that Luke was listed as innocent, I realized that the staff members aren't all murderers.

And no, I don't really care what you say about me or what happens here. I'm done with this stupid experiment.

That's enough!

[Hey, sorry you two, but you're starting to get distracting]

This is not the time to argue about Parrish and Castellan's...whatever they had going on.

Focus on the actual case.

[Well, Dojima can't deny there are reasons to suspect Adam, but he currently doesn't think Adam is a staff member, which is why he's trying to divert the attention away.

Not that he's expecting it to work. Alfendi seems the kind to keep pressing on no matter what]

With the intent to escape or just the natural human instinct to survive. Like was a fighter, he only knew how to keep himself alive.

Did you watch him? He didn't want to kill Lara. He genuinely liked her.

[personal profile] mitsubou 2016-10-22 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I didn't vote for anyone here.

[Shakes head.]

In any case, we shouldn't be trying to pin the blame on someone just because the person he liked ended up being staff. [LOOKS IN THE DIRECTION OF SOME... PEOPLE...]
liven: (REMARK ► it's opinion time.)

[personal profile] liven 2016-10-22 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)
This is the case. We need to find a person we suspect of being staff before the end of the trial. Or do you suggest we just do whatever as we have the past two times?
selfdenying: (you're up then you're down)

[personal profile] selfdenying 2016-10-22 06:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, it's like you're in your own little idiotic world where your boyfriend is a wonderful saint and martyr who died for our sins! Oh, poor Luke, who did so much for us, such as allowing two innocent children to die while you and him were having wonderful tea parties and talking about your feelings for each other!

[He slaps the cover of the notebook, his expression almost feral.]

Grow up, you selfish brat. If you don't have anything to contribute, you should've just stayed in your room.
