DAY SIX (morning)
![]() Complex Population: 27 It's 8AM, and you wake from that deep, dreamless sleep that enforces curfew as always. There's breakfast avaliable in the cafeteria if you want it, as well as meals from 11AM-12PM and 7PM-8PM, but otherwise? The viewing stage is open. It seems that someone was busy during the night. This post is for the second day as defined in the schedule. This post is for investigation and general mingling before the trial that takes place in the afternoon IC. ic rulebook character statuses character profiles private conversations graveyard |

[Since Bigby is a) not in the operating theater and b) still has his foot intact, thankfully .]
I'd say that if he was staff, he was getting desperate. And if not, then he was an absolute fool. Serves him right. [He peers down at Bigby's hip, eyebrows, furrowing.] What the hell did he do to your hip, though?
no subject
[It's lucky for Bigby - and probably for the rest of them - that the stab wound was enough to wake up him up.]
He deserves what he got, but you're going to have to be careful from here on. [She scowls.] He probably wasn't working alone, whether he was staff or not. If anyone tries to point the finger at you in the trial later...

[ #faith ]
I have to say that stabbing someone in the shoulder is a bad way to kill them in their sleep. How idiotic of him...well, he probably regretted it after you took care of him. Good work, despite the mess.
[ shijima... ]

and also, at this point, Bigby doesn't really know where he's going. he just starts dragging his body through the atrium, doing his best to keep himself from keeling over every step that he takes. ]
Mmf. He was working with someone else, alright. Was... nnn, given a second weapon on top of his sword. Said another guy told him to come find me after we... fuck, wrestled on the ground. ―With a sword in my arm.
[ something that has apparently disappeared since coming to. that was definitely still stuck in his arm, last he remembered. ]

So either Kei was a staff member, or he was being ordered around by one. Alice tries to think on it harder but brings a hand up to her temple instead, wincing.]
Get some rest, get patched up, and then get ready. We're going to take... [She takes a breath.] We're going to take whoever this "other guy" was down in today's trial. They have a lot of nerve.
no subject
[ this is concern? for her? she looks over at alice when the other girl puts a hand to her temple, eyebrows rising, but doesn't say a word about it. ]
I suppose the rest of us shall have to think about the coming trial.
no subject
[Sorry, Bigby, he has to laugh at that. Not at Bigby, thankfully, but just the idea of someone needing help to murder. How pathetic.]
What a coward! And another weapon is just cheating, really...well, looks like it didn't help him, anyways.
[Does Alfendi show any kind of concern for Bigby's state? Nope. Not at all. Sorry, Bigby.]
We'll definitely find that little weasel of his friend and we'll bring him down. He didn't mention anything else about him?
no subject
Oh my god, fine. If it makes you all shut the... nnn, hell up about it.
[ his breathing is labored as he instead finds a rail to sit on top of, hands on his knees and bent over. Bigby doesn't look at any of them, even if Alfendi deserves a proper slap in the face for yapping off as much as he is. he can't comprehend the fact that he is the "other" side right now. ]
Unless they out themselves with some kind of... kind of accusation to me, it'll be another blind guess. [ at least he's finally trying to wipe some of the dry blood off of his mouth! ] Nothing I can think of right now. He was definitely dead, right?
[ he thinks he bit deeply enough. ]
no subject
[Good job, Bigby! And Alfendi does deserve the slap. He does. Nobody deserves to hear him and his weird critic nature when it comes to murders.]
I'll ask that terminal person - what was it, Julie? - about his status, about whether he was staff or not. She could have some answers. Meanwhile, anyone who tries to accuse you after this is just a genuine idiot.

Shijima and I both kicked him, and he didn't so much as flinch.
[But then she makes a face at Alfendi.]
Judy. If you call her by the wrong name she might give you false information. Some people are stupid and petty like that.
no subject
[ because of course 2 of them looted the corpse. ]
At any rate, at least you've agreed to sit down...I somehow doubt we'll get better than that for now.
no subject
Right. ―And you all thought it was a good idea to just leave him alone in our apartment to follow me?
[ he should be touched, and he may find the time to feel it if he survives the end of the night. for now, however, he shrugs and immediately groans with the pain of moving his shoulder in anyway. ]
What the fuck is his problem, while we're at it?
[ just going to weakly point at Alfendi, the one that has taken King Dickhead from the rest of the apartment for the time being. ]
no subject
Excuse me, who's the actual damn amnesiac here, huh? You? Or me?
[He would make a rude gesture here too, but he's distracted by Bigby's questions, and he turns back, glowering.]
You had answers that a corpse didn't. [He lets out a huff, the strands of his hair in front of his hair flopping a bit from the rush of air. What do you mean, what the fuck is my problem? I woke up yesterday for like the fifth time after something happened with her - [He points to Alice.] - and that other guy with the bandana. Dickson, or whatever.
[Tch.] Hi. Nice to meet you, too.
no subject
We've all forgotten things, so the answer would be all of us.
[Also, he has the advantage of someone writing shit down where he can find it? Like, wow, nice Alfendi went through all that trouble to leave notes and here he is acting like he can't remember something as simple as a name! ...actually if he purposefully left the wrong names in the notes that would be pretty hilarious and would bump Nice Alfendi up a few levels in Alice's book.
For now, though, she huffs.]
I had nothing to do with that. The other you just totally lost it, is all. But at least we managed to knock him into the fountain, so I'm satisfied with that.
[That's not to say she won't take another swipe at Alfendi if he so much as looks at her funny, though...]
Alfie looked at the body but we left to follow you after it was obvious we wouldn't learn anything from the corpse, because that's what good roommates do.
[literally no one wants to hear that from you, Alice]
no subject
[ honestly she just figured he was in a bad mood. weird. ]
I'll go back to the apartment after this...but it's not as though any of us want to deal with the questions we'll get more than once. Ugh...what a pain this is.
no subject
[ NICE TO MEET YOU TOO. if Bigby was in any mind to pay attention to his and Alice's petty bickering, he would definitely want to find out what the hell crawled up their ass and made them so aggressive towards one another, Nice Alfendi or no.
he pats around his bloodied pants for the slim chance that his cigarettes were on him, taking the risk of causing even more tearing in his shoulder wound while doing so. of course he didn't have his cigarettes on him. they must have spilled out at some point during the confrontation. with a deep sigh, he uses his one good arm to rub at his temples, trying his hardest to get in control of himself. ]
Either way, at least... at least he decided to just go after me. Could have very well tried killing the entire apartment if he wanted.
[ is that him showing some appreciation that they were all okay? d'aww. ]
no subject
[He snaps, but he doesn't seem all that angry about Bigby saying that - he just narrows his eyes, peeved. He's really not feeling well enough to exert enough energy to do anything else besides throw insults back.]
Odd though, that he chose a guy like you. Ha, you didn't paint some kind of target on your back, did you, Bigby?
[OH LOOK, HE CAN REMEMBER NAMES. He's just being irritable and forgetful for the other ones, he'll catch up eventually.]
no subject
[ being that. they are all asleep. ]
...Again, sloppy work. If you must kill someone in their sleep, have the decency to do it so they die on the first stroke. Still, it's good he was sloppy...it'd be annoying if you were to die.
[ that's as close to aw she cares as she's getting re: it being good he lived i guess ]
no subject
[ Alfendi's always been a bit of a vulnerable, easily offended guy. but this version? oh my god, just find the sword and stab him again, this time aiming a little closer to his heart like what was probably intended. ]
Thanks, I guess? [ to Shijima, who has a horrible time showing some genuine relief at Bigby not having been killed. yet. ] They were going after kids for the most part... and I don't think I painted as big a target on me as someone like Elizabeth or the lawyer. No way of telling.
no subject
[Ergh. He lets out a frustrated sigh - look, he isn't thinking right because of [SPOILERS] and ingesting fountain water....give him some slack.....]
What I find interesting is that they had to essentially use a hitman to take you out! Don't you feel honored? [He says, sarcastically.] Which means that perhaps the people who ran the show had enough strength to take out some weak kids and yet didn't have enough strength to take out a man like you, so they had to use someone else for the job.

[There's no small amount of admiration in Alice's voice when she makes this observation - Bigby was higher on her list of people she liked than most people in the Complex already, but this has only shot her opinion of him up even higher.
Because successfully weathering an attack and ripping someone's throat out is admirable when you're a maniac like Alice i gUESS.]
Can you think of anyone you might have made an enemy of during either of the last two trials? Well - anyone who's still alive, I mean.
