DAY FIVE
![]() Complex Population: ??? It's 8AM, and you wake from that deep, dreamless sleep that enforces curfew as always. There's breakfast avaliable in the cafeteria if you want it, as well as meals from 11AM-12PM and 7PM-8PM, but otherwise? The day is yours. Take your time to explore the complex, relax, and enjoy each others' company, as who knows what the next day has in store? Though as you explore, you may notice that there's a new door unlocked and a new place for you to spend the day. Even better, it's two rooms! You'll find a dated computer lab, but at least you can play classics like Kid Pix and Ski Free. Connected to the lab is also a small movie theater, though the movie selection only goes up to 1940... Also, anyone taking a stroll by the fountain this morning may notice something odd about it. The water is red. This post is for the first day as defined in the schedule. This post is for general mingling and CR buidling, and will not include significant plot interaction. ic rulebook character statuses character profiles private conversations graveyard |
Cafeteria
Hey. Over here.
[He approaches, Dojima seems...stern. Looks like he's in interrogation mode]
Give me a minute here. I have heard you were talking to Castellan rather often. Is that true?
[Dojima isn't accusing Alvin of being staff, but his tone isn't exactly devoid of suspicion]
no subject
but alvin knows he can't really avoid it, nor can he avoid suspicion—he's honestly a bit surprised this is the first person to even suspect that he might me, given his history and his public information.
so he'll comply with dojima, though it's probably pretty obvious he's not into being treated like a suspect.]
If you want to call a couple of times "rather often," then sure. I guess we spoke "rather often."
no subject
[There are actually several questions Dojima wants to ask, but it isn't like he's in an interrogation room, as a detective confronting a suspect. This is a cafeteria and Alvin is free to stand up and leave anytime he wishes.
Being brief is key right now, so he goes for a question that may not make Alvin angry for now]
Did Castellan talk about anyone? I know he was rather close to Parrish, but there must be other people this staff member talked about.
no subject
it doesn't take him more than a few seconds, though.]
Nobody in particular, most just about the crappy circumstances. I think the only one we ever talked about was... well, the first kid that bit it, after we saw his body.
[thrilling conversation, apparently.]
no subject
I see. Now, tell me this:
Did you vote 'abstain' during the first trial? Or did you break your own proposal?
[Dojima doesn't expect to hear an affirmative answer, but he's paying a lot of attention to Alvin's body language in an attempt to find out anything]
no subject
[his body language doesn't change too much; he actually relaxes just slightly, shrugging his shoulders despite the skeptical quirk of a brow in his direction.]
You're really taking the profile info to heart, huh? I didn't have any reason not to abstain—I wanted to see if Judy would uphold her end of the deal, so I made good on my word. That's just good business, you know?
no subject
Alvin doesn't seem very defensive. Dojima sighs, he isn't entirely sure what to think]
I'm not accusing you. As a detective I have to consider all possibilities, but there's no reason to suspect you of being staff. The only reason why I asked you something was because Castellan seemed to have a slight fixation on you...or so I have been told.
[A small exaggeration, to misdirect a bit, but the core of the reasoning is true]
no subject
[and alvin, being alvin?]
I know our names sound similar and I'm a lot more charming and handsome, but I'd probably have seen him more if it was really a fixation.
no subject
I see. Thank you, that's all I needed to hear.
[He is even smiling, satisfied. Hey, since you're here, may as well ask!]
You don't have to tell me, but why does your profile list betraying everyone as a skill? It's just curiosity.
no subject
[it's really hard for alvin to tell if people are too suspicious or too forgiving by not bringing it up constantly. he expects to hear it a hell of a lot more.]
I'm a mercenary back home. It's not always proud work, but my hands got tied a few times. You work with warring countries with no alliance yourself and... sometimes it means you have play both sides whether you want to or not.
[it's as simple as that. nothing personal—all business.]
