DAY FIVE

DAY 5
Complex Population: ???

It's 8AM, and you wake from that deep, dreamless sleep that enforces curfew as always.

There's breakfast avaliable in the cafeteria if you want it, as well as meals from 11AM-12PM and 7PM-8PM, but otherwise? The day is yours. Take your time to explore the complex, relax, and enjoy each others' company, as who knows what the next day has in store?

Though as you explore, you may notice that there's a new door unlocked and a new place for you to spend the day. Even better, it's two rooms! You'll find a dated computer lab, but at least you can play classics like Kid Pix and Ski Free. Connected to the lab is also a small movie theater, though the movie selection only goes up to 1940...

Also, anyone taking a stroll by the fountain this morning may notice something odd about it. The water is red.

This post is for the first day as defined in the schedule. This post is for general mingling and CR buidling, and will not include significant plot interaction.

[Is he asking if she's superstitious? Either way, seeing ghosts will be nothing short of nightmarish for Hitsugi, considering her line of business.]

Nothing beyond the stories they tell in boarding school. You know what those are like.

Yeah. But sometimes those stories are true. What else could it be? What would you think if you got a letter from someone you saw die?

There's a seed of truth to everything, otherwise there wouldn't be stories. [it's her most tactful way of saying she doesn't feel either way about the subject.

But people she'd seen die? That's a slippery slope. There's still a hint of sweetness in her voice, but this time her tone is honest, unlike the friendly affectation from before.]

Actually, I'd be curious to know... What's so important for them to tell so as to try and reach me.

... I think he just wanted to explain himself. [ You'd think maybe it would be something more useful. An explanation of what's happening, who the rest of the staff are, why he did this. But maybe Luke is just too loyal. ]

There wasn't anything... informative in there. Just that he's always known he was a staff member. Do you think it's really from him?

[Empathy is hard--how do people manage it on a daily basis? But she likes Adam, so she's making more effort than most. Honesty on her part certainly takes genuine effort, too. So she's honest, if not terribly helpful.]

He must have cared for you a great deal to reach out to you when he's no longer here, and explain. I think if he was given a better chance at this, he would have told you more.

[ He's quiet for a while because he can tell now that Luke cares about him. He hates that. ]

It's not fair. He shouldn't have been killed like that even if he was a staff member. He didn't hurt anyone. But... I guess you're right, he must be limited. We can't let this happen again.

What a situation we're in. [she's not critical of Adam's grief. If anything, Hitsugi's musing at their predicament. It's not fair we're here at all, but being all in the same boat, it's more fair than not.

I think he should have had the chance to explain himself. [Would that have done any good? There were some things about herself she wouldn't want anyone she cared about to know, but she'd want the chance to explain all the same.]

... I know. [ He appreciates that at least. ] It's stupid to just keep killing the staff. Obviously they know what's going on here. They have information the rest of us don't.

Or—maybe not all of us. There are certain other people Judy mentioned, right? They know things too. And then some people are just kept in the dark.
