trial #2
![]() Complex Population: 32 At noon, the same tone from the morning rings out, and Judy's voice filters out over the intercom. "Good afternoon, residents. As per Safety Protocol 6227-A, it is time to conduct a trial to bring justice for the victim. Please proceed to the courtroom on the first level." Just as at night, if you don't go to the courtroom, you'll be treated to an electric shock of increasing strength until you go to the courtroom or are unconscious. Though considering the ominous penalty for not participating in a trial, you should likely just go rather than risk not voting because you've been knocked out by your own stubbornness... Once you're in the courtroom, you'll find that bottled water and light snacks are provided, but otherwise you'll have to bring anything else you may need. As you come to your conclusions about who to vote for, you can step into the judgement theater to cast your vote at the terminal. You may change your vote as many times as you'd like, but at 7PM, your vote (or lack thereof) is locked in. You have until 7PM to discuss and vote for who you think the murderer is. ic rulebook character statuses character profiles Voting will close at 9PM EST on 10/15. voting |

What?! No! We're not going to all die!
no subject
Nope. We're totally going to die. First, they're picking off the kids, which is like, what the fuck? And -- and now it'll be us next. Me and you, Jeff. We're totally going to die. Why? Why us? We're so -- so young and so pretty and we're going to die so hard, bro. They're picking off the weak and we have no muscle definition like, at all!
[ kindred spirits, jeff and him. ]

I'm too pretty to die!
[Thanks, Alice?, for that input.]
no subject
Neither of you are going to die, but please calm down. Working yourselves up over this will only make it more difficult for you to focus.

I'll see what can be done, but it would likely be easier to calm him if others aren't feeding his panic.

No, you are not, Jeff. You are the exact amount of pretty to die.

Shit--Is...is that really how it works?
no subject
I was like you once. Young. Pretty. World at my feet. [ and then back to shaking him. ] And then I ended up here where we're all going to die. It can happen to anyone, Jeff!

I understand if you're feeling hopeless about the situation, but that's no reason to drag down everything with you.
no subject
I just -- I don't want to be caught off guard! When it happens! As in, when I die! Because I'm totally going to die.

[rhys PLEASE]
If you panic, you won't think straight, and things will be worse...please, get ahold of yourself.
no subject
[ BUT. ]
But, okay, whatever. I'll just, I'll fucking shut up or whatever.
no subject
[stop doing you, rhys.]
no subject
What else am I supposed to say? We have no evidence and no direction and no -- no nothing. I'm preparing for the worst.
no subject
Drink water, breathe and calm down, Rhys. This situation isn't... ideal by any means, but we will only make it worse by losing our cool.

We have a chance, we can't give it up as soon as it's presented to us.
no subject
Yeah, but -- but we're totally going to fail. That's just how these things work.
[ but that's all he'll say at least, going back to sulking in his seat ]
