 Complex Population: 32 At noon, the same tone from the morning rings out, and Judy's voice filters out over the intercom. "Good afternoon, residents. As per Safety Protocol 6227-A, it is time to conduct a trial to bring justice for the victim. Please proceed to the courtroom on the first level." Just as at night, if you don't go to the courtroom, you'll be treated to an electric shock of increasing strength until you go to the courtroom or are unconscious. Though considering the ominous penalty for not participating in a trial, you should likely just go rather than risk not voting because you've been knocked out by your own stubbornness... Once you're in the courtroom, you'll find that bottled water and light snacks are provided, but otherwise you'll have to bring anything else you may need. As you come to your conclusions about who to vote for, you can step into the judgement theater to cast your vote at the terminal. You may change your vote as many times as you'd like, but at 7PM, your vote (or lack thereof) is locked in. We may have some questions about what the bracelets could be broken apart for. Seems you, Rhys and Angel may be getting some suspicion thrown your way. People are latching onto the theory about the bracelets being needed for something ... bigger.

[ But Jack's bitching is cut off pretty quickly as Elizabeth continues, and instead his expression of annoyance falters into concern. He looks conflicted, but then reaches out to place a hand on her shoulder. He smiles warmly ]
Hey, hey-- Don't worry about it, Liz! If anything happens, that's- Look, not your fault at all. I'm not gonna blame you, so don't worry. [ He even gives her a wink because at heart, Jack is super. Duper. Lame. ] I'm a hero, baby! Sacrifice is totally the name of the game. Kinda unfortunately, in my opinion, but eh, whatever.

I mean, depends on which theory you wanna go with. Personally? I'd rather look at how people have acted here instead of, uh, skills. For admittedly selfish reasons, because if y'all are looking at Rhys for being a tinkerer, that's... I mean, same for me. I could get into one of those monitors no problem, and I'll admit that. So. [ He sighs again ]
How things went down last week. First trial, they've gotta make sure to get people voting for someone, right? 'Cause either they're taking a gamble and one of them might get caught, or they get their numbers revealed. So... I mean, to me, that makes that interrogation of whatshername pretty, uh. Worrying. Not that she was helping herself out there, but I kinda agree with what Fran is saying in that department.

[Even though Alice doesn't actually like admitting it. Sigh. Something about Franziska's attitude just rubs her the wrong way.]
I mean, I can see why everyone interrogated her. It was suspicious that she had a history of being violent with the victim, and then she just kept digging her own grave after that. I think I'd agree with it more if not for that, actually... it would have looked really suspicious if she wasn't giving them a reason to keep asking questions, but since she was, I can't really blame any of them for what they did.
[She tilts her head to one side.]
What about for the person who actually did the killing? The idea that the actual killer might be someone young or frail has been brought up a few times because of how young the victims are. Do you think that holds any weight?

Nah, I can't either. And I mean, if the circumstances were any different? I'd totally blow it off. But... We're not that lucky. So, uh, as things are, I've gotta think that maybe it was convenient for them to have some crazy chick and really jump on that.
[ He looks thoughtful for a moment at her second question, and it takes a moment for him to answer. ]
I mean... Possibly. Hell, we don't even know for sure that they even pick them, do we? Might as well be randomized with how that "bug" went for all we know. So it's hard to say. But assuming that it's not just friggin' random, yeah, that's the best idea we have to go on. Pick a kid because they're not gonna fight. Which... [ That thought makes him uncomfortable, but he shrugs ] Then that becomes a question of who's frail enough that they're gonna pick a kid even when they get some hotshit weapon?

Well... there is Cici. He was in Charles's room and I know he wanted to have the bed... they might have fought about that. And he was pretty quick to point the finger at other people earlier on in the trial. He's pretty small.
[She looks around the room and points out a couple of others - Minatsuki, Franziska, Shijima, and Hitsugi.]
They're all pretty short, too. But I don't know if I would describe Shijima as frail, she put up a pretty good fight for the bed the first night we slept together.
