DAY THREE

DAY 3
Complex Population: 33

It's 8AM, and you wake from that deep, dreamless sleep that enforces curfew as always.

There's breakfast avaliable in the cafeteria if you want it, as well as meals from 11AM-12PM and 7PM-8PM, but otherwise? The day is yours. Take your time to explore the complex, relax, and enjoy each others' company, as who knows what the next day has in store?

Though as you explore, you may notice that there's a new door unlocked and a new place for you to spend the day. There's a workshop and tinkering lab that you can now access. It includes everything from power tools to more terminals (so no need to crowd around the commissary terminal to chat with Judy anymore). As tempting as all these tools may be, they cannot be removed from the lab. Only completed projects may be taken out of the lab. That said, it seems like someone may have already been here, as there's blood smeared on one of the terminal's keyboards.

Also, anyone taking a stroll by the fountain this morning may notice something floating in the water: a boy's severed foot.

This post is for the first day as defined in the schedule. This post is for general mingling and CR buidling, and will not include significant plot interaction.

I'd appreciate the company. [If Sakyou looks closely enough, he'll notice cartoonish doodles that are approximates of everyone's faces next to their names.

She adds a ribbon to his as an afterthought.]
modissty: (he's comparing kayo's face to a manju)

[personal profile] modissty 2016-10-10 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you.

[A little smile! He'll take a seat, curiously glancing over afterwards. Oh...]

—Those are the residents here?

[Cute little touch with the ribbon.]

Yes! I'm bad with names, so I'm trying my best to memorize everyone's names here. The faces help, too.

[There is also a crudely drawn map of what they have access to on the premises, although that looks less entertaining than the doodles.]

...Is that all you're having for breakfast?
modissty: (starry skies)

[personal profile] modissty 2016-10-10 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
That's a wise idea. I might try something like it... Ah, though I don't have the talent to make something like that.

[It's cute! He likes the little doodles, and the map is probably smart, too. Stopping off at a terminal to see where one is probably isn't feasible if they're in the middle of running away from a murderer or something...]

—For now, yes. I may get something else later, but I can't say that I woke up feeling very hungry.

You're too nice to say that, but I'm sure you'll be good it if you try.

[She stops scribbling long enough to pass along the plastic bag with the cereal--freed from the carboard container--along.]

I wouldn't want to impose my opinion on you, but the better you eat, the better you'll feel physically and mentally. I think that's going to be important here.
modissty: (hm?)

It's nice of you to say...

[HE SEEMS UNCONVINCED but maybe he'll try doodle-remembering later...

When the bag is passed over, he takes it politely, looking a little surprised.]

—Well, it's not that I think your assumption is wrong. ...Thank you.

Don't mention it.

I guess the food not being very appetizing doesn't help, does it?
modissty: (mmmmmmmaybe not)

[personal profile] modissty 2016-10-11 02:44 pm (UTC)(link)
It is a little much to tolerate, on top of everything else. I don't suppose this type of food is normal for most people, is it?

[personal profile] daturah 2016-10-11 03:23 pm (UTC)(link)
It's below average in quality and taste, even if I'm used to more excellent than most people. [Missing that boarding school life]

I'm sure everyone here will come up with alternatives to improve our meals in no time, though.
modissty: (well okay)

[personal profile] modissty 2016-10-11 08:15 pm (UTC)(link)
[He knows that feel... Sans boarding school, but nobles get some nice food, even though it's been a long time since he's fallen into that category.]

I see... I'd hope for that to be true. I would like to lend a hand myself, to be honest, but I fear I'd be more of a nuisance than anything. Most of the equipment in the kitchen is still unfamiliar to me.

[They say whipping up poison is no different than cooking! But that comparison doesn't work in this context, and perhaps it's not the greatest time to use it at the moment.

Not in this atmosphere.]

Eating food is an important job in itself!

[PROBABLY NOT just on the off chance someone takes her seriously. Or in case a mcmurderer is listening in and looking for ideas...]

Well... I suppose without doing so, it would make a person far less capable of helping out where it matters.

And keeping themselves safe, too.

I don't know everyone here very well, but I'd be sad if more bad things happened.
modissty: (mmmmmmmaybe not)

[personal profile] modissty 2016-10-13 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
...If this continues on the path it's currently set for, I'm not certain how easy it will be to avoid more bad things.

What a pessimistic point of view.

[She moves the food around a bit, before taking her own advice and resuming her breakfast, as bland as it is.]

But you're not wrong. I wish I could tell you that you were for sure.
modissty: (makin everyone pretty)

[personal profile] modissty 2016-10-15 06:41 am (UTC)(link)
I think that at this point, I'd prefer nothing more than to be told that I'm wrong... Or to be proven wrong - that would be even better.

[He follows her example after a pause and opens up the cereal bag, reaching in for a few pieces.]
