DAY THREE
![]() Complex Population: 33 It's 8AM, and you wake from that deep, dreamless sleep that enforces curfew as always. There's breakfast avaliable in the cafeteria if you want it, as well as meals from 11AM-12PM and 7PM-8PM, but otherwise? The day is yours. Take your time to explore the complex, relax, and enjoy each others' company, as who knows what the next day has in store? Though as you explore, you may notice that there's a new door unlocked and a new place for you to spend the day. There's a workshop and tinkering lab that you can now access. It includes everything from power tools to more terminals (so no need to crowd around the commissary terminal to chat with Judy anymore). As tempting as all these tools may be, they cannot be removed from the lab. Only completed projects may be taken out of the lab. That said, it seems like someone may have already been here, as there's blood smeared on one of the terminal's keyboards. Also, anyone taking a stroll by the fountain this morning may notice something floating in the water: a boy's severed foot. This post is for the first day as defined in the schedule. This post is for general mingling and CR buidling, and will not include significant plot interaction. ic rulebook character statuses character profiles private conversations graveyard |

But I think even if this were some five-star meal, it's kind of hard to eat after... everything. Aren't you worried about tonight?

[She shows no interest in using the kitchen herself, and is probably just hanging around for the sake of it, if only to distract herself.]
Naturally. The only thing I can do is to figure out how to defend myself if worst comes to worst.

[ He frowns but continues cooking, assuming someone will want to eat it. Maybe? That reminds him... ] Your skills mentioned something about... poison? I guess that's not a very good defensive tactic, but...

I'm not too bad with medicine and antidotes, either, although whoever prepared my profile didn't want it to look flattering.
That's not very helpful either, is it? It's not like I can defend myself with Tylenol.
[It's her attempt to lighten the mood. Otherwise, the point Adam brings up is worrisome.]

Well... there's always striking before someone can strike you. But you'd have to be suspicious about someone first. [ He pauses. ]
Of course, knowledge about medicine is pretty useful. The easier option is to find someone you can team up with to trade skills. Someone who's better with defense.

Someone stronger and bigger, you mean? That shouldn't be too hard if you're my size. [Come on, crack a smile]
Ideally, I wouldn't want to make enemies at all. We'd all look out for one another, but that doesn't' seem to be an option right now.

But... no, people aren't feeling too generous right now. We have every reason not to trust each other. So you shouldn't make a deal with someone without observing them a little first. Find the people who seem really dedicated to exposing the staff members.
That's just how I've been working this out.

A deal? You mean allies. What a great idea. If it were under better circumstances, I could almost pretend it's a game. [She's not taking his words lightly, despite her airy tone. Her eyes are serious, at least.]
I'll certainly take that to heart. I may not understand what's going on yet, but I also don't want to die.

The worst part is we don't know when they're going to strike next. We don't know how. I still suspect Charles was awake when he was caught but I can't explain why he would be out, or if someone got into his room to do it. We need to find answers before we can protect ourselves.
