DAY THREE
![]() Complex Population: 33 It's 8AM, and you wake from that deep, dreamless sleep that enforces curfew as always. There's breakfast avaliable in the cafeteria if you want it, as well as meals from 11AM-12PM and 7PM-8PM, but otherwise? The day is yours. Take your time to explore the complex, relax, and enjoy each others' company, as who knows what the next day has in store? Though as you explore, you may notice that there's a new door unlocked and a new place for you to spend the day. There's a workshop and tinkering lab that you can now access. It includes everything from power tools to more terminals (so no need to crowd around the commissary terminal to chat with Judy anymore). As tempting as all these tools may be, they cannot be removed from the lab. Only completed projects may be taken out of the lab. That said, it seems like someone may have already been here, as there's blood smeared on one of the terminal's keyboards. Also, anyone taking a stroll by the fountain this morning may notice something floating in the water: a boy's severed foot. This post is for the first day as defined in the schedule. This post is for general mingling and CR buidling, and will not include significant plot interaction. ic rulebook character statuses character profiles private conversations graveyard |

[ So... it's easy to put two and two together. With the additional reveal, Elizabeth couldn't stomach to come to the scene at first. When she's finally alone, she'll take her time looking around. She wondered how a nailbat came to be and - maybe this was it. Maybe this was the room the killer had access to.
For now, Elizabeth doesn't have her attention on the assortment of woodworking products. Instead, she finds herself looking at the starter kits. She has to wonder, looking at the wiring spool and advanced robotics. Too advanced 4 her. ]
...I wonder if we could rig an alarm system up.
[ Better than barricading them into their room, that's for sure. Elizabeth could honestly, very crudely, put something together but the tools and equipment were far too advanced for her.
Come dismiss her suggestion or encourage her! ]

[But creating something may be a good idea]
If we could create a camera or anything similar to that...that'd be useful.

[ Oops. She hates Rapture and all it's gosh darn booby traps. ]

There must be someone among us who know to create that sort of advanced thing. It doesn't even have to be special, just something that could record images until the morning.

You gonna start networking? People like to listen to men more than a woman. [ ??? #1900s ] You come in with a strong enough idea, you'll start rallying the people.

[Sakyou, still more reserved than he'd been the first day, has stuck mostly to the outskirts of this place while looking around. Unsurprisingly, like nearly everything else here, he has no idea what like 99% of the items inside are...]

[ Liz feels like she's really really scraping the barrell here, but she looks to him with a concerned glance. ]
How are you holding up?
no subject
I can help you look, if you'd like.
[OR TRY. An effort will be made.]
—And I'm doing better now, thank you.

[ By then? Who knows who would be dead. ]
I have some beef stew in the kitchen, unless someone took it. You're welcome to have some later. [ It was a tiny gesture. She... knows herself that that weight was a heavy one. ] If you want, I mean.

Do you mean an actual alarm to try and wake us up or a trap set up for whoever did... [ hand gestures ] that to that kid?
no subject
Either or. If we're put out, I doubt we're going to wake by normal means. Could just narrow down where the killer came from - if he kills again. If we rig doors with alarms, we can see if one of them have been disrupted - narrows down the field a bit, don't you think?
no subject
Even if the traps or alarms don't necessarily work as intended, if it leaves some kind of visible injury then it might help us out. [ A pause. ] Depending on where the injury is anyway, I doubt everyone will give themselves up to inspections even during a trial. [ Ookurikara almost fully expects there to be another one since these kinds of things aren't just accidents. Not by the looks of how Charles was left and his foot just thrown into the fountain of all things??? There's something weird going on anyway, he knows that much. ]

[Sorry Elizabeth... he wishes it would work, but it doesn't seem likely, given the circumstances. He won't discourage her if she's dead-set on trying, though.]
We'd all have to know how it works, so we wouldn't end up setting it off on accident. And if the murderer is walking around with us, [Which Leo believes is probably true] that means they'd know how to turn it off too.

Was a good avenue to start thinking of, even if it has problems. Precautions. Don't know about you, but I'm more focused on making sure we narrow our suspect pools from 30 to a hell of a lot less.

[Says Alfendi, stroking his chin as he, too, looks over the kits.]
However, may I suggest an alternative about knowing movements during the night? There's a certain trick involving a piece of hair or something of the like I once read about.
no subject
That's an accurate assumption, but what if - maybe there's another way.
[ She's not coming up with anything, though. For now, Elizabeth's satisfied just hearing him out. It sounds curious. ]
A piece of hair...? What do you mean?
no subject
Actually, do you mind us stepping away for a moment? It's quite the ingenious little thing, you'll love it.
[He gestures for her to step away into a far more isolated corner of the lab.]

[Here's Guy again, keeping some distance!! But he's definitely there to encourage her]
no subject
[ She really wants to know about this, you guys. Why is someone literally getting away with murder, right to their faces? ]
Stopping them isn't our only goal, we need to weed out how many others there are too.
no subject
[because this is a murder game, Liz, get with the times!!]
Or a watch. If they're planning on killing people at night, someone's bound to notice something.

[alvin wants to get to the bottom of this too, after all. the entirety of the previous day's events is sitting pretty poorly with him—though it's probably more because of how it all went down rather than what actually happened.]

[she may have suggested he try to charm judy, but alvin is still the one that urged everyone to abstain.] I guess we're not exactly a winning combination right now, huh?
[ha. haaaa. nailed it.] Maybe we need a third opinion, but trying to keep an eye on things doesn't seem like the worst idea at this point.
