DAY THREE
![]() Complex Population: 33 It's 8AM, and you wake from that deep, dreamless sleep that enforces curfew as always. There's breakfast avaliable in the cafeteria if you want it, as well as meals from 11AM-12PM and 7PM-8PM, but otherwise? The day is yours. Take your time to explore the complex, relax, and enjoy each others' company, as who knows what the next day has in store? Though as you explore, you may notice that there's a new door unlocked and a new place for you to spend the day. There's a workshop and tinkering lab that you can now access. It includes everything from power tools to more terminals (so no need to crowd around the commissary terminal to chat with Judy anymore). As tempting as all these tools may be, they cannot be removed from the lab. Only completed projects may be taken out of the lab. That said, it seems like someone may have already been here, as there's blood smeared on one of the terminal's keyboards. Also, anyone taking a stroll by the fountain this morning may notice something floating in the water: a boy's severed foot. This post is for the first day as defined in the schedule. This post is for general mingling and CR buidling, and will not include significant plot interaction. ic rulebook character statuses character profiles private conversations graveyard |

... It can't be that hard, can it?
[Someone should intervene before she burns down the kitchen. Be the hero this complex needs.]
technology lab — afternoon:
Kitchen
[Ryotaro 'I only make coffee and nothing else' Dojima strolls in, eyeing the place warily]
Check if the can has instructions or something.
no subject
It does. I've already read them — but I don't suppose they're foolproof, are they?
[More like "girl who has never cooked in her life" proof. The last time she stood this close to stove, she was 12-years-old and still had two parents. Yikes.]
no subject
Don't let that deter you, or you'll reach my age without knowing how to cook.
[He actually sounds like he's trying to joke, although it's actually a bit forced. There's a killer walking freely around here, after all. The fact Angel is a teenager he barely knows doesn't make him feel at ease either]
no subject
Good point. I may as well give it a try. [Nothing lost, nothing gained? And now she tries for her own joke.] Worst that could happen is I waste a perfectly good can of meat.
no subject
[That does sound like a joke, and Dojima didn't mean anything harsh by that, but he does start looking for those.
Better be safe than sorry when there's eomeone inexperienced in the kitchen]
afternoon
[Well, she may be in her zone but Alice? is definitely not.
He looks beyond confused by all of this.]
"jeff liddell" fuck
[She says this like it explains everything, but she knows it doesn't. She also may or may not be holding one of the drills, looking pleased as punch by all of this. Don't mind her as she occasionally pushes the "on" button???]
You could use the materials here to build build small robots, for example. Or perhaps even simpler items, like birdhouses. [A beat, as she contemplates her new drill buddy.] ... There are also more terminals here, similar to the one in the commissary — but it seems someone used one before the we gained access to this room.
there's no fighting it
So... you can make things here. Anything useful, though?
[Focuses on the most important part!!]
kitchen
What are you trying to do?
[ just warm it up? or do something else with it? ]
no subject
Prepare a meal, but...
[Punctuating that statement with a sigh, turning the open can in her hand before setting it on the counter.]
I don't suppose you have any recommendations? To be blunt, I don't believe I can stand eating canned corn for breakfast again.
[She's going to barf mysteriously preserved veggies at this rate, honestly.]
no subject
I've eaten beans for two days now. [ which is to say, she's not in a better situation here. but, someone is asking her for help, and lara croft accepts all npc quests.
as such, give her a few minutes to rummage around in the kitchen. eventually, lara will bring back a mysterious yellow can with green writing on the label. ]
Can you get the lunch meat cooked while I open this?
kitchen
[Here he is again, keeping a few feet away but hanging around anyway, as usual.]
It doesn't look all that appetizing.
no subject
[Though eating it is also... hard. She conspicuously sniffs the contents of the can, scrunching her nose at the smell. She's not sure if canned skag meat would be better or worse than this.]
... Though it's not a meal fit for a king, either. [SIGHS???] But I suppose I shouldn't be so picky when we're working with limited supplies.
no subject
[Guy's always watching...... actually no, he's still keeping his distance]
Well, I know a thing or two about making bad food edible. If you want, I can give it a try?
kitchen
["it can't be that hard" is probably never the right thing to say while standing in a kitchen, in front of a stove.
alvin's no master chef, and he doesn't cook often, but he at least knows the basics and enough to know that this isn't the way to go here.]
no subject
[SARCASTICALLY. She sets the can down with a sigh, turning to look at him. Well, then. He's here. He's making her even more wary of the kitchen. She might as well ask.]
I assume that means you know your way around the kitchen. What would you suggest I do?
no subject
(no, he isn't.)]
I've cooked a few meals here and there. Can't say it's my strong suit, but I'm pretty sure I could throw something together that's not deadly. You know, as long as whatever's in these cans isn't already.
[what is truly worth being wary of.]
no subject
[Worst case scenario is severe food poisoning. Somehow, she doubts the nutritional value of these things is worse than what can be found on Pandora.
... Or inside the fountain, now that Charles's foot took a swim there.]
no subject
[though who the hell even knows. someone's definitely got something out for someone, right? ha.
either way, he'll take a step forward, motioning for her to give him the can.]
This stuff's pretty easy to work with. Grill it up in a skillet with some vegetables and rice and you've got yourself a meal. [assuming they have cans around of either of those things, but alvin isn't exactly looking right now.]
labbo
At least if he has to defend himself, he knows one place he could try running to. He's not quite surprised to see Angel there, but he is kind of impressed that she's already putting stuff together. And, naturally, he has to snoop on her, as well. ]
Woah. Pretty cool, Angel.
no subject
She's in the middle of dealing with the wiring when Steve comes to snoop on her. Hello, roommate. Good to see he hasn't become a victim of a foot fetish joke...]
Oh— Thank you, Steve, but I'm only following the instructions.
[So it's not like she's creating something from scratch. She appreciates the comment nonetheless, however.]
Would you like to build one yourself? If you're searching for something to do, it's a good way to pass the time.
no subject
Eh, why not? I'm getting tired of pacing up and down the halls. [ even with the murder hanging over his head, he's a little bored. Perhaps he's become too used to all this death. ] You look like you're holding up okay.
