DAY THREE
![]() Complex Population: 33 It's 8AM, and you wake from that deep, dreamless sleep that enforces curfew as always. There's breakfast avaliable in the cafeteria if you want it, as well as meals from 11AM-12PM and 7PM-8PM, but otherwise? The day is yours. Take your time to explore the complex, relax, and enjoy each others' company, as who knows what the next day has in store? Though as you explore, you may notice that there's a new door unlocked and a new place for you to spend the day. There's a workshop and tinkering lab that you can now access. It includes everything from power tools to more terminals (so no need to crowd around the commissary terminal to chat with Judy anymore). As tempting as all these tools may be, they cannot be removed from the lab. Only completed projects may be taken out of the lab. That said, it seems like someone may have already been here, as there's blood smeared on one of the terminal's keyboards. Also, anyone taking a stroll by the fountain this morning may notice something floating in the water: a boy's severed foot. This post is for the first day as defined in the schedule. This post is for general mingling and CR buidling, and will not include significant plot interaction. ic rulebook character statuses character profiles private conversations graveyard |

Thank you. There's a lot of jargon here, but it all feels pretty natural. That's what I like about fixing things. Each piece has a purpose and once you understand that purpose, it's easy to figure out where it goes. See, now that I can screw this in...
[ And he does so, moving his hand so she can watch. ] Now I connect this jumper wire from the power source to here... and that's how the wheels are going to move. Have you ever seen a robot before in your travels?

That's brilliant. [ her arms are folded, and she can't help it - lara gazes down at the machine he's tinkering with, something like pride reflecting in her eyes. he's a good kid. he's got a good future ahead of him. gotta keep it that way. ]
Not yet, no. So far the only way I've seen a robot is... [ well. ] The one you're working on now. Ancient civilizations had their ways, though, and their technology, it could be even more advanced than we know. Stranger things... I've encountered far stranger.
[ but she's smiling. ] You could go far with this kind of thing. Are you planning to study in technology?

What sort of strange things? These robots are a different sort of strange, I guess. [ He seems to think very hard about that question. There's a frown. ]
I... don't know. I'm not very familiar with technology, honestly. I don't even have a cellphone or laptop. I can fix cars but I don't want to do that all my life, you know?

[ but lara supposes she can't really avoid the question of what she's seen on her travels. with a tilt of her head, she answers. ] Strange things... like a long dead Queen-Priestess nearly reborn, or an ancient cult alive and well. [ undead armies... things. you know, the normal stuff an archaeologist encounters. ] This is still brilliant. You could do some amazing things with these, Adam. A robot with a camera and wheels could be used for excavations.

... Also he forgets about it when she starts talking about her adventures. ] You're not joking, are you? [ Why would she lie to him? ] Do you know how? How the Queen-Priestess was almost reborn? [ Look he might need that in the future with Glendower. ] I could show you how to build the base of the robot, at least, but I don't think we have cameras.
