DAY THREE
![]() Complex Population: 33 It's 8AM, and you wake from that deep, dreamless sleep that enforces curfew as always. There's breakfast avaliable in the cafeteria if you want it, as well as meals from 11AM-12PM and 7PM-8PM, but otherwise? The day is yours. Take your time to explore the complex, relax, and enjoy each others' company, as who knows what the next day has in store? Though as you explore, you may notice that there's a new door unlocked and a new place for you to spend the day. There's a workshop and tinkering lab that you can now access. It includes everything from power tools to more terminals (so no need to crowd around the commissary terminal to chat with Judy anymore). As tempting as all these tools may be, they cannot be removed from the lab. Only completed projects may be taken out of the lab. That said, it seems like someone may have already been here, as there's blood smeared on one of the terminal's keyboards. Also, anyone taking a stroll by the fountain this morning may notice something floating in the water: a boy's severed foot. This post is for the first day as defined in the schedule. This post is for general mingling and CR buidling, and will not include significant plot interaction. ic rulebook character statuses character profiles private conversations graveyard |

though luke could look better, she reasons. ]
You two look like you're having fun.
[ she's standing to the side of the couch, a light smile playing at her lips. ] Not feeling well, are you? Can I ask what's in the drink in question?

Just a cold, no big deal. [Which is precisely why he's sprawled on another person. Okay. Given the fact he's keeping his head right where it's at there's some merit to Lara's question. He's shooting the drink a look of distain before shooting Adam a similar look.] You'd have to ask him, but if most of it came from a can and from stuff around here I don't think it's gonna be that great.

As much fun as someone can have when they have to care for a sick person. [ But he seems pretty content where he is. Except then he's setting his cards down to use his free hand to pull at Luke's cheek. ] I got something healthy from the bar, he's being a baby. It's just herbs and vegetables. You'd probably have to pay $20 for it at a store.
Do you want to sit down, Ms. Croft?

but she nods toward adam. ] Let me join you.
[ THE BOYS... she loves them. a pair of troublemakers. if they don't scoot for her, she'll steal a seat from the bar and pull it over. ]
You're lucky someone's got the knowledge to make something for you, Luke. As long as no one has gotten sick off the food here, it's worth a shot. I've had worse experiences with the food during excursions. We make do with what we've got.

I can't believe you're taking his side of things. And I'm not being a baby. [He tries very hard to sound offended, but that's not working out too well.] I'll be fine. I'm just not used to being sick. [He keeps half of his attention on Lara and the other half on Adam, not sure which one's more interesting at the moment. They both fascinate him for different reasons.] You can't just leave a sentence like that and not give us examples, you know. [Adam, back him up on this.]

But somehow you're the first person to get sick here. [ He doesn't believe it. Still, he's mostly focused on Lara and making a good impression. ] It would be helpful to know what you did during excursions. Maybe we can use some of those ideas. I'm not picky but I don't really trust the food here. I eat as little as I can.

Of course I'm taking his side. Been here for not even 72 hours and you break your nose... [ there's a sigh, and then: ] Unless you want to know how to gut a deer, I'm afraid I don't have any ideas. Usually, we had a cook on board, or we ate canned food. Whichever way our luck swung that trip.
[ plus the first time she killed for meat was kind of awful and she doesn't want the boys to go through that? this is bad enough! ]

I think that'd require finding a deer. [He huffs.] Camp always made food for us and before that I kinda took whatever I could get away with. Even that was better than this. [He does allow himself to close his eyes though even if he's very much awake.] The real thing that makes me wonder is why there's no expiration date on anything.

... I guess it does bring up the question of how old this place is and how long it's been used. A lot of it looks really run-down but then there's some impressive technology. Do you think there were people here before us?
no subject
I don't think it's a theory that can be taken off the table yet. Do you have anything to support it or debunk it?
[ ... she just wants to encourage the boys to theorize and think, honestly. she made the mistake of not being that experienced with her theories and paid a hefty price for them - she doesn't want to see them doing the same. so, a little bit of a pop quiz is necessary. ]
Personally, I'd need to see signs of lives beyond our's, first.

It's like I was telling Alfendi a few days ago. Somebody cared enough about this place to bring in fake plants and actually arrange them. That's a sign isn't it? That and the maintenance of the pipes to keep the water running in the bathroom. [Adam would probably know better about that kind of stuff, but it's the first thing Luke thinks of.]
no subject
I haven't heard the pipes creaking or anything so they're not that old. [ He leans his head back against the couch. ] There could be people hiding out in the locked rooms for all we know, at this point. We could be on some sort of reality TV show.
Ms. Croft, do you think Judy is a real person or not?
