DAY EIGHT (morning)

DAY 8 (morning)
Complex Population: 19

It's 8AM, and you wake from that deep, dreamless sleep that enforces curfew as always. Of course, some of you might be waking up due to a rather alarming reason.

NOTE: This day post will be run slightly differently because of the large amount of things to be discovered. Please indicate where your character is in the subject line of your toplevel, and a mod will reply to conduct the investigation. Please note that some areas may be dangerous, and your characters may be injured, but characters will not be killed (unless you want them to be).

This post is for the second day as defined in the schedule. This post is for investigation and general mingling before the trial that takes place in the afternoon IC.

[ Jack is looking at her wound again quickly enough, since the comment that she's never been stabbed before makes it spike up again quickly enough. Stabbings are... weirdly normal where he's from? So he's gotten stabbed before, sure. Who hasn't? He's about to give some helpful tips, but Elizabeth ends up focusing back on his neck. He glances up at her with an expression that seems to say "please don't," but. ]

Ssssh!! [ He shushes her sharply as he leans close with a mildly horrified expression, but it's quickly followed by an exasperated groan as he pulls at his face. ] Ughhh, look, things just. Got out of hand. I don't know. Goddammit.

[ He murmurs the last part into his hands, but then looks up at her with an exaggerated expression of exasperation. ]

Just. Don't say anything. I know. I know.

[ LOOK SHE'S BEEN SHOT AT, but this is different. She's commenting mainly because she feels vulnerable and she needs to detour the conversation.

He shushes her and she gives him a look. ]

I'm just concerned your time is focused less on the skylight and more on finding girls to muse your time. Think you're running out of those, though.

[ Look... she's not sure what's going on, but she can't be sure. Either way, Elizabeth lowers her shirt down and leans against the bar counter. ]

I have some remaining concealer in my apartment that you're welcome to have. Stuff runs a bit thin for my taste but could cover up some bitemarks.

[ He's still pretty mortified that it's that obvious, one, and two, that Elizabeth was the one to notice it. Considering he'd explicitly made a point about not doing things like this, he's pretty embarassed to be so immediately proved wrong... He's half expecting a lecture to that effect, but when Elizabeth is actually sympathetic and then kind, his gaze flickers to with surprise, but then back away with a sort of petulance. ]

...Well, uh.

[ He pauses, since he's really surprised by how nice this is?? He wouldn't be nearly this nice about it, but that at least gets him to relax to some degree. ]

That... would probably be suspicious, right? Like, if we weren't about to go walk into a trial thing, sure, but... Might just be better to be h... onest... [ he sounds so reluctant about it though ]

Whatever you choose, Jack. It's there for you.

[ She seems a bit distant, but it's mainly because she's super not feeling good. Elizabeth isn't worried about his affairs - even if she has the sinking suspicion he's betrayed her. She doesn't want to. She's had enough of believing people turn on her in her life time.

She's sitting down carefully on the stool at the bar, tense with her form. ]

You lucked out - whoever got a bit overeager with their attacks spared a few people. Guess the scar was enough pity.
