DAY THREE

DAY 3
Complex Population: 33

It's 8AM, and you wake from that deep, dreamless sleep that enforces curfew as always.

There's breakfast avaliable in the cafeteria if you want it, as well as meals from 11AM-12PM and 7PM-8PM, but otherwise? The day is yours. Take your time to explore the complex, relax, and enjoy each others' company, as who knows what the next day has in store?

Though as you explore, you may notice that there's a new door unlocked and a new place for you to spend the day. There's a workshop and tinkering lab that you can now access. It includes everything from power tools to more terminals (so no need to crowd around the commissary terminal to chat with Judy anymore). As tempting as all these tools may be, they cannot be removed from the lab. Only completed projects may be taken out of the lab. That said, it seems like someone may have already been here, as there's blood smeared on one of the terminal's keyboards.

Also, anyone taking a stroll by the fountain this morning may notice something floating in the water: a boy's severed foot.

This post is for the first day as defined in the schedule. This post is for general mingling and CR buidling, and will not include significant plot interaction.

You might want to think more about your... soup.

[or whatever it is. it looks like soup to him, though.]

About as good as anyone can be around here, I guess. [he shrugs. fake it til you make it, right?] Nobody dragged me off and killed me while I was asleep, so I guess that's a good enough start.

Not unless someone's really got it out for us.

[though who the hell even knows. someone's definitely got something out for someone, right? ha.

either way, he'll take a step forward, motioning for her to give him the can.]

This stuff's pretty easy to work with. Grill it up in a skillet with some vegetables and rice and you've got yourself a meal. [assuming they have cans around of either of those things, but alvin isn't exactly looking right now.]

I'll...look for the fire extinguishers.

[That does sound like a joke, and Dojima didn't mean anything harsh by that, but he does start looking for those.

Better be safe than sorry when there's eomeone inexperienced in the kitchen]

Well, I don't think we're going to find any faultless logic at this point. That alarms bank on us actually hearing them, don't they?

[his folds his arms, sighing a bit in exasperation.]

This would be a lot easier if we could actually stay up and not have to worry about all this curfew crap.
selfsufficiency: (not only am i extensively trained)

[personal profile] selfsufficiency 2016-10-13 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course they wouldn't, but it's obvious it's going to happen again.

[Alice shrugs and pushes around some of the food on her plate with her fork.]

For one thing, we didn't even catch the person who did it. For another, they wouldn't spend time setting all that up if it was only going to happen once. That would have been a waste.
selfsufficiency: (as we speak i am contacting)

[personal profile] selfsufficiency 2016-10-13 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Some people seem to be managing okay.

[Then again, people aren't so likely to give up a bed for Alvin, so he's shit out of luck there.]

I wonder what they're doing to make us all fall asleep like we have been. The last couple of nights have been the longest I've slept without waking up in ages. ♡
selfsufficiency: (and i've been involved in numerous)

[personal profile] selfsufficiency 2016-10-13 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
if we catch a killer, i want to punish them
if we don't, i want the killers to know what they'll be facing if they come after me

[Lucky for her she's only half human! So she's only half abnormal, then.]

Oh? What kind of a place do you come from, then?
selfsufficiency: (secret raids on al-quaeda and i have)

[personal profile] selfsufficiency 2016-10-13 11:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Whatever they're doing to knock us out, it's keeping me asleep for waaaay longer than I've been sleeping at a time before I got here!

[In other words, it's a much more restful sleep than she's used to getting? Which is actually kind of sad, really.]

I'm used to being on the move. It's a little weird staying in one place for so long.
selfsufficiency: (as we speak i am contacting)

[personal profile] selfsufficiency 2016-10-13 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course there is.

[Of course, she says, like it's a totally normal reaction... sigh.]

We didn't catch the person who killed that kid [she can't be bothered remembering Charles's name now that they're not in the middle of a trial, sorry Charles] so it's nice to know where things we can use to defend ourselves are.

[They can't take them out of the lab, of course, but provided someone getting targeted could get up here they might be able to fight back.]
selfsufficiency: (secret raids on al-quaeda and i have)

[personal profile] selfsufficiency 2016-10-13 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm... I guess I kind of get what you mean.

[Alice taps one finger to her cheek, thinking.]

Usually I'm on the move a lot, so I don't sleep for as long as we've all been sleeping here. This has got to be the longest night's sleep I've had in months.
turinged: (just to live)

[personal profile] turinged 2016-10-14 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
I do not intend to be aggressive, but I will remember that he is... Would shy be an accurate description?

[she pauses.]

I am not certain how difficult it would be to construct a sword rack, but how large it is in comparison to a birdhouse would suggest it would be more difficult. I think he will appreciate the work you put into it regardless.
turinged: (knowing them)

[personal profile] turinged 2016-10-14 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
[she shakes her head with a frown]

I wish that I did. It would prove useful here.
adlucem: ({shady})

[personal profile] adlucem 2016-10-14 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
There's no reason we couldn't. Maybe someone else has information that they haven't had a chance to share.

[It's not likely, but hey, Leo's been surprised before. It could happen again.]

What do you mean by "the distracting ones"?
becauseimacoward: (30)

[personal profile] becauseimacoward 2016-10-14 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
Better late than never! Here, let me show you. I'm no pro, but I can teach you the bare basics.

[Dojima takes a few of the tools, putting them nearby. Hammers, saws, a couple drills...everything they would need to make a barrier if they wanted, except wood]

First than all, you need to be safe. Use these. [Have goggles and gloves, Ava. We don't need you to get hurt]
adlucem: (Default)

[personal profile] adlucem 2016-10-14 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
It's strange, isn't it? [So it's not just him... maybe they're all exhausted from this whole situation, but it still doesn't feel like a proper night's sleep.] I always get up early enough to get everything ready for my master in the morning. If I woke up this late back home, he'd be dressed and eating breakfast without me.
turinged: (how it feels to pass a day)

[personal profile] turinged 2016-10-14 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
I would like that, too.

[that earns a smile as she takes the instructions]

How far in the process are you?
turinged: (all i ask is one)

[personal profile] turinged 2016-10-14 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
But all of us were sleeping when the staff killed that boy, weren't we? How would we use a weapon to defend ourselves?
adlucem: ({verdigris})

[personal profile] adlucem 2016-10-14 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
It would be useful if we knew who could wake up and leave the room undetected at night. [He'll easily admit that.] That would be a good place to start, wouldn't it? There must be some way to do it without the rest of us tripping over it all the time.
betraitor: (pic#10640159)

[personal profile] betraitor 2016-10-14 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
Probably something in these things, I'd bet.

[he taps the monitor against the leg of the chair. he can't really deny that his sleep has been solid and sound, though not necessarily comfortable or good.]

That or there's really something in the air in this joint.
modissty: (hm?)

[personal profile] modissty 2016-10-14 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
[No she's uniquely abnormal just by virtue of being Alice...]

Japan, though from a year much earlier than... most here, I believe.
selfdenying: (i should know)

[personal profile] selfdenying 2016-10-14 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
How barbaric.

Can I hold you to that promise, Judy? And of course it's easier said than done, catching one of those people, but I assure you, it will happen. Especially if you can help us, even as supposedly restrained as you are.
newlugers: (i combined green herb and lighter)

[personal profile] newlugers 2016-10-14 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
Old world? [ he gives her a funny look. Please don't be another person from outer space. ] I don't know what you're talking about. It's Italian food.
antietam: (pic#10332797)

[personal profile] antietam 2016-10-14 05:18 am (UTC)(link)
You think people other than the staff might know more than us?

And I mean the ones who kept distracting everyone in the trial. The conversation got off-topic a lot which I found suspicious. The staff has more to gain if we don't figure anything out, after all.
newlugers: (your knight in shining armor is here!)

[personal profile] newlugers 2016-10-14 05:18 am (UTC)(link)
[ not yet he hasn't. it's probably only a matter of time until someone gets annoyed with him and cuts his foot off... Steve considers her proposal for a second or two before shrugging, sliding himself into the space across the table from her. He's not the brightest crayon in the box, exactly, but he's interested in mechanical things - plus, she's right. There's nothing better to do. ]

Eh, why not? I'm getting tired of pacing up and down the halls. [ even with the murder hanging over his head, he's a little bored. Perhaps he's become too used to all this death. ] You look like you're holding up okay.
