DAY THREE

DAY 3
Complex Population: 33

It's 8AM, and you wake from that deep, dreamless sleep that enforces curfew as always.

There's breakfast avaliable in the cafeteria if you want it, as well as meals from 11AM-12PM and 7PM-8PM, but otherwise? The day is yours. Take your time to explore the complex, relax, and enjoy each others' company, as who knows what the next day has in store?

Though as you explore, you may notice that there's a new door unlocked and a new place for you to spend the day. There's a workshop and tinkering lab that you can now access. It includes everything from power tools to more terminals (so no need to crowd around the commissary terminal to chat with Judy anymore). As tempting as all these tools may be, they cannot be removed from the lab. Only completed projects may be taken out of the lab. That said, it seems like someone may have already been here, as there's blood smeared on one of the terminal's keyboards.

Also, anyone taking a stroll by the fountain this morning may notice something floating in the water: a boy's severed foot.

This post is for the first day as defined in the schedule. This post is for general mingling and CR buidling, and will not include significant plot interaction.

Please go easy on him! He's not very good at dealing with strangers...

[He laughs.]

Really...? It'd be a lot more useful to him, though! And, I was going to keep it rather simple... Just a three piece rack would suffice.

Do you have experience with this kind of tools? [He gestures around. Two people who know what they're doing is better than one, after all!]

No but I thought it might all be connected.

[ he doesn't know how plumbing works ]

[ steve is also snooping. he gets mildly hopeful every time a new room is introduced that this is the place where he'll find his missing lugers/SMGs/photo of his family/whatever else he had on his person before he got here, and is mildly disappointed every time. This place is closer than before - power tools! - but still no cigar.

At least if he has to defend himself, he knows one place he could try running to. He's not quite surprised to see Angel there, but he is kind of impressed that she's already putting stuff together. And, naturally, he has to snoop on her, as well. ]

Woah. Pretty cool, Angel.

It's not that.

[Not really an answer; in truth, nightmares aren't uncommon. But that's not something he'd bring up normally, and it isn't what's bothering him now.

Diva... Diva's situation definitely still weighs on his mind. But that's not what he's concerned about either.]

I'm not used to sleeping in so late. It feels unnatural.

They probably doubt we'll ever find the killer. [A nod; that seems most logical. They have nothing to go on, really, unless they find more evidence or another body. But he isn't going to say that to Adam.] It would be satisfying to prove them wrong.

[personal profile] adlucem 2016-10-13 06:19 am (UTC)(link)
[Sigh. Of course not.

Well, it was worth a try.]

Because no one I've spoken to has ever heard of my country, and I've never heard of any of theirs. I thought something else might be the link between us all.

[It's not the main reason he asked, but it's not a lie, either. Seriously, what the heck is "America"?]

[personal profile] injectors 2016-10-13 06:24 am (UTC)(link)
... Are you okay?

[Stupid question, but she can't help it as she enters the kitchen to retrieve a can of beans. Said can is held in her hands, ready to be opened and eaten — but she's in no hurry to torture her tastebuds again.

Might as well see if there's anything she can do to help out this sad looking dude.]

[She would rather be working with software, but. Well. No powers. No shortcuts. She'll give manually working one of the terminals a try later. For now, she settles on putting one of the coffee cup sized robots together. It's not exactly cutting edge technology, but it's... soothing? In a way.

She's in the middle of dealing with the wiring when Steve comes to snoop on her. Hello, roommate. Good to see he hasn't become a victim of a foot fetish joke...]

Oh— Thank you, Steve, but I'm only following the instructions.

[So it's not like she's creating something from scratch. She appreciates the comment nonetheless, however.]

Would you like to build one yourself? If you're searching for something to do, it's a good way to pass the time.

I'm sure whatever is in these cans can't be as deadly as our current situation. Give it a try.

[Worst case scenario is severe food poisoning. Somehow, she doubts the nutritional value of these things is worse than what can be found on Pandora.

... Or inside the fountain, now that Charles's foot took a swim there.]

[personal profile] karachan 2016-10-13 09:01 am (UTC)(link)
[ The dumps are where he usually is so it works out -- though he can't focus on brooding by himself since Elizabeth's idea or plan(?) has merit in his opinion. ]

Even if the traps or alarms don't necessarily work as intended, if it leaves some kind of visible injury then it might help us out. [ A pause. ] Depending on where the injury is anyway, I doubt everyone will give themselves up to inspections even during a trial. [ Ookurikara almost fully expects there to be another one since these kinds of things aren't just accidents. Not by the looks of how Charles was left and his foot just thrown into the fountain of all things??? There's something weird going on anyway, he knows that much. ]

[personal profile] karachan 2016-10-13 09:11 am (UTC)(link)
[ Through the power of rp brackets, the bird house is closer and closer to being done! There's some trial and error from both of them as they figure it out but since the project is relatively simple then it doesn't take too long for the two sword spirits to get it.

It's actually starting to look like a little bird house? ]
Are we just going to leave it this wood color or is there something to color it? [ what bird would go into an unpainted home ]
chiseler: (I curse this caveat)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-10-13 03:47 pm (UTC)(link)
[Don't sound so smug, Adam, gods. But lucky for them Lara's asking interesting questions and for once Luke goes quiet to think on that. He shifts slightly to be more comfortable, trying not to cough directly into Adam's leg before he seems to come up with an idea.]

It's like I was telling Alfendi a few days ago. Somebody cared enough about this place to bring in fake plants and actually arrange them. That's a sign isn't it? That and the maintenance of the pipes to keep the water running in the bathroom. [Adam would probably know better about that kind of stuff, but it's the first thing Luke thinks of.]
chiseler: (ask a reason and no reply)

[personal profile] chiseler 2016-10-13 03:50 pm (UTC)(link)
It's possible. I still haven't decided if I trust that thing or not. [But escape is an interesting topic.] Everybody having the same goal helps a lot. Have you met anybody who's come up with a good idea yet? All of mine don't seem to be working out. [It happens when you can't conveniently teleport...]
tearable: (12)

[personal profile] tearable 2016-10-13 04:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Guess not. Maybe it's time we let some other people come up to bat.

[ As much as she doesn't like allowing someone else control of their fate... this may be the best time. ]

The only thing we can do is some preventative measures... The alarm was the only thing, but once again, there's many faults with that logic.
onepunchgirl: (I'm movin' out)

[personal profile] onepunchgirl 2016-10-13 05:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Pizza? [She turns around, repeating the word with confusion in her voice. It sounds vaguely familiar to her - a type of hot food.] Sorry, I don't think I've seen any boxes labeled with that word. Not that I've really looked. Pizza is an old world type of food, right?
onepunchgirl: (I'm so blue)

[personal profile] onepunchgirl 2016-10-13 05:03 pm (UTC)(link)
[She pauses when he asks, and then her weak smile returns. It's not a pleased one.]

Not really. That boy who died, he was assigned to the same apartment room as me. So yeah.

[It hasn't been all that great waking up to only four people, no matter how much more room there is.]

I guess I just didn't expect something like this to happen so soon. Hostages don't usually have to fear for their life for the first few days. Though the circumstance is different since that other woman was involved apparently.
onepunchgirl: (I'm movin' out)

[personal profile] onepunchgirl 2016-10-13 05:04 pm (UTC)(link)
You are? [It's something she didn't know, and a good diversion from talking about her own foul mood.] Didn't know you were a tinkerer. Have you worked with tech and robotics before?
mitsubou: (pic#10646957)

[personal profile] mitsubou 2016-10-13 05:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh! Hello. [He smiles wryly when he turns to greet her.]

Yeah, I'm fine. I just made some soup, but I'm not really in the mood to have any of it. [His appetite was shot down severely after everything that happened, but cooking always helps him calm down.]
mitsubou: (pic#10646807)

[personal profile] mitsubou 2016-10-13 05:19 pm (UTC)(link)
[Ah yes, time travel is amazing.]

Hmm, I wonder! It'd be cool if we got to decorate this a little, but there's mostly only wood and tools around. [He's kind of disappointed, but oh well.]

The commissary might have some paints and things for us if we can't find anything here. Want to take a look?
tearable: (pic#8716759)

[personal profile] tearable 2016-10-13 05:30 pm (UTC)(link)
What if they had no choice? I'm not some dictator demanding mandatory inspections if we have to go to trial again, but... [ Not a bad assumption! The situation was bad, ticking onward even more hostile if the paranoia sets in. ] It's going to be bad. Put an animal into a corner... it's their nature to lash out.
heroizes: (ONE WAY.)

[personal profile] heroizes 2016-10-13 06:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh.

[ There's understanding in his voice, even if he's stressing that syllable a lot. Jack crosses his arms as his expression does at least shift to be sympathetic. It might be genuine, or it might be because he knows what he should show facing words like that. The difference wouldn't be clear even to him. ]

Yeah, it's... Well, terrible seems underwhelming? Worries me if they'd start out with a kid, y'know? Since, uh, there's a lot of them. Iiiin my opinion, anyways, but I realize that makes me sound like an old fart since they're teenagers. Ugh.

[ He reminded himself that he's old, which is the Worst? Jack shakes his head to dismiss that thought, though. He pauses, uncertain of what to say, but ends up just asking idly: ]

Why, though? I mean-- Why're people dying, not why're you upset, since, uh, yeah, obvious. It's not gonna make things better, I know. But if there's a reason, I dunno.

[ There's nothing wrong with that. In fact, he feels like he understands her a lot better when she says it. ]

How about we learn together? I'm used to fixing things but nothing like this. You might have some better ideas than me on how to customize it. [ He'll pass her the instructions for the tiny robot kit. ]

It would. [ There's a pause. ] I don't think we should stop trying to find the killer just because there's no trial happening. Why don't we have our own meetings about this?

We can gather people who are interested and leave the distracting ones out.

[ That's an excellent question and Adam seems pleased with it, enjoying the idea of having people to think with. Even if Luke probably can't really think at the moment, Lara can make up for him. ]

I haven't heard the pipes creaking or anything so they're not that old. [ He leans his head back against the couch. ] There could be people hiding out in the locked rooms for all we know, at this point. We could be on some sort of reality TV show.

Ms. Croft, do you think Judy is a real person or not?
